I'm about to get a place here in Nashville ( inside the city :gay:) and will probably have to build a garage just to fit my megacab and jeep. I would love to build a 100x60 shop but building on a little over an acre limits me. Planning on a 30x40 or 30x30 with at-least 14 ft ceilings so I can add a lift and fit the wakeboard boat.

My house (bachelor pad) is only right at 1,000 sq ft....but it's barely over 5 yrs old, so no maintenance. I pay land taxes on .39 acres....so that would be the reasoning behind my shop only being a 20 x 24. Cuts down on my yard mowing time adding building structures :****: Plus I have a 10x12 storage building behind my house as well.

Personally I vote for all shop and no yard! Gets rid of mowing time which equals more shop time or riding time.

i went 40x40x14..... at first i thought it was big enough.....but now wish i would have went bigger.....but i am glad i went with 12x12 doors...just about anything will fit inside of it

Mine when it's clean:

I know, the fab shop is tiny. But that's like when you flop out the ol' whopper and the chick says, "Ummm... It's cute." It hurts to say it. :gtfo:

pic of the shop. Plenty of room to work on 2 rigs, 3 with a lil clean up.

We framed up all the walls inside, insulated and tar papered, and finished out the inside with kiln dried poplar walls, off-white metal ceiling, painted floor in the main living area, and carpet in the bedrooms (3 bed, 1 bath inside, another full bath in the shop)

Here's what I have for a shop. :gay:

10x22 attached garage, 220 v plug close to the door for the welder and plasma, air compressor relocated to the attic space above, left over shelving from the parts store, plastic table with casters attached to the legs, 1950's servel gas fridge for the beer thumb.gif

I envy anybody who can work on their stuff inside :****:
