Im building a budget one ton grand cherokee with 40's under it and its almost time to start setting up there steering. What are my options other than spending a grand on PSC stuff?

Im talking budget stuff... like a single ended ram from tractor supply or northern tool. Wheres a good place to find a descent orbital?

What setups have yall bought and homebrewed that worked well with a one ton setup?

High steer arms and a single 8 inch ram, build your own brackets, dont skimp on a cooler, and definitely get high steer arms that incorporate the factory tie rod location on the knuckle. Otherwise you WILL break/crack a knuckle! Find a Danfoss orbital valve that is open center. You can find them at scrap yards or forklift junk yards. Just my .02 thumb.gif

The ag rams work just fine but generally have smaller shafts than the aftermarket ones. There are exceptions to this.

The smaller shaft makes them "more balanced" from left-right.

Cheapest setup (that is good quality) I've been able to pull off was:

New Eaton orbital $300 - Motion Industries
Field service fittings and hose (a "must" IMO) - $150 DiscountHydraulicHose.com
2x8 SE ram - $65 - surpluscenter.com
biggest cooler that would fit on the radiator - $60 summitracing.com
conversion fitting for saginaw pump to -6 JIC - $10 summitracing.com
misc steel and bolts - $20?

so ~$600 for everything (add $ for a pump if you need one)
