AOP - Side x Side Series Event #3 - Sept 6, 2014

The AOP will be hosting 3 side by side events in 2014. These events will be a mix of timed trail runs. We will have 3 classes.......800, 900, and Open Class. This is not a points series this year but will evolve toward that in 2015. Basically this is a show up and take the money deal. The entry fee will be $60 per driver and will be a 100% payback per class. We will also donate $5 per wrist band sold at these events to be divided proportionally between the classes. Hi John. Can you remove the sxs competition that I had scheduled for September 6th from the calendar? A lot of the racers want it moved to later in the year. I will replace it in a few days with just a cookout and ride event and feed everyone lunch on that day.

That is almost two months ago.

He was going to move this date, because driver said they didn't want to race when it is hot. He is trying to finish up the short course in the lower field to hold some of these events. Seems all the side x side guys wanted to race until race day come. When only 10 racers sign up to run and less than 100 spectators show up ($5 from each person that comes through the gate goes in the racers payout) to watch, it is really not cost effective to have the race. By the time he pays the staff (the people working the gate, because the timer guys and recovery crew DO NOT GET PAID) and takes the week before to set everything up, he has to make enough to at least break even. Maybe the short course will help bring in the racers and spectators. The more racers and spectators that show up the bigger the payouts will be.
