Gm 14 bolt rear steer

Here's my new axle I jus finished welding up. I used 3.500x.500 DOM and machined the inner tube to use the factory dana seals,solid industries C's, knuckles,ballistic fab shave kit,and truss super joints 35 spline outers 30 spline inners,5.13 locker.

Yes, I machined the stock shafts down so I'm able to determine the length needed ,also ive turned dana 60 shafts. I used an old 30 spline front stub shaft,I just machined the splined shaft off so the yoke/ujoint end can slide to mark the shaft .it can also be used as an alignment bar to weld ends on I have cone bushings to center etc.

Great job, those are no easy task. Ya gotta love those plug welds.

Here is a customers axle housing I did a while back with a TMR shave kit.

And yes the spot weld were a pain I 1st tried to cut through them and burnt up 2 tips finally I set it up on our Bridgeport,The way gm welded them in was a joke not a straight spot weld looks like there welded at a 45° and not to mention the housing isn't round then they spot weld them and the tubes distorts so when u press them out they galled up the housing so I machined the housing..I've built 2 now and I'm fixing to build a front next..thanks for all the response

Carbide tipped hole saw is the trick.
