Can you explain the proper method of running the dual rate sliders?

Yeah, we recommend running the slider short side up.

Fox used to put them long side up because the body wasn't threaded far enough down. But now they machine them much further so you can run them in the strongest orientation.

Can you confirm different materials from the softer sliders of years past to the newer more dense units?
 
In the 15 years I've been machining down Fox sliders the material hasn't changed.

Sway-A-Way use to use Delrin and now uses Nylon 6/6, that's the only change I'm aware of on the standard 2.0 and 2.5 sizes.
