I wouldn't.

Theyre all the weight of Rockwells with the strength probably equivalent of stock tons (or less)

The gm also ran reverse rotation front axle because of its wierd tcase.

You would either need the tcase too, get 2 fronts or 2 rears, or flip one.

A local guy ran 2 steering axles in a rear engine rig. He busted a few shafts before going to Rockwells. He had a pile of them to get parts though.
 
I've drove a few hours before because I was told they were 2.5 ton rocks but get wiithen sight of the trucks and I was like damn those are the junky gm 6x6 no thanks. The only thing I have ever seen on them that was even close to cool but I still passed on was on the first rear end there is a greasable carrier bearing that I've thought about using for a midship bearing

Not totally sure think a shaft. Barely got onto it and bang crack pop. Then he took a flange off and still popping and cracking. Acted like a shaft
