They didn't. It is probably a 60 or 70. That is unless someone went through all the trouble to swap it out and change the gears in either the front or the rear.

In a brick nose? I thought they didn't have them til the next body (front clip) style?

That's def a Sterling rear end.

I think the Sterling was standard for srw trucks 86/87+
