Fluid in plug won't cause a no reverse for sure. Reverse is 100% hydraulic. No solenoids are affected. I used to see fluid them all the time. Plus remember that on the other side of that connector are bare pigtail connections at each solenoid that are fully submerged all the time.

That low servo, the band and direct clutches are on in reverse.

You should see your issue in there unless you have you modified the VB a bunch.

If you got fried direct clutches, look at the piston in the drum. The aluminum pistons crack when you get silly with VB upgrades.

I was just curious man. Rig looks great!! I guess you're not up for 24hrs of Burris??

I guess you could define the forward clutches as "welded" together...

Mm yummy

I always loved 4l80s. They are a great trans. The only kicker with them was if they had the slightest pressure leak they'd burn to the ground. So keeping them tight was the key then you could get 50k out of em.

I'm guessing you're gonna rebuild. Fresh o rings in all the accumulators is super important and molded steel pistons especially in that direct clutch housing is a must.

Then when you put it back together turn the pressure control solenoid up 1/4 turn. Little torx head on the back of the solenoid.

I forgot to add, absolutely put new seals on the center support and the input shaft. The center support is what supplies the direct drum with fluid pressure. The pump slides down over the input, well the top 2 then bottom 2 slide into the overrun.

You'll be set man!

Saw that on the socialist medias, but was hoping he'd wrap up the build on this one and start a thread on re-working Low Budget Pimpin.
Newly rebuilt transmission is in and he's headed to thrash on wrapping up a few loose ends to wheel this weekend with me. It's now on 42" reds and Dirty Life beadlocks. I'll get pics when I see him Saturday.

Sounds great on getting to wheel with the old Sami and pics etc.

Now time to start a thread on your new-to-you rig.

Spy pic, he has no kids, so he deleted the rear halo and seat.

Trans builder sent me a message to let me know where I messed up. I was going off an exploded catalog pic and guessing. I'd never try it again, but it was a good learning experience.

"Well, you got it stacked up without destroying hard parts, so thats good. Biggest mistake was a one way clutch was installed upside down, so it turned the wrong direction. Immediately cooked the direct clutch. There was one lip seal installed upside down, one torn, an accumulator piston upside down and one clutch pack was stacked in the wrong order.

Attention to the tiny details is all it takes. I bet if you did it step by step by the book it would have been fine. Well, after you went back in and replaced a defective shift solenoid."

Took the replacement to the scales and was surprised how heavy it is for being a Honda/Yota single seat.

You're 1,070lbs lighter than me. I think you're doing pretty good

I'm a small build 2 seater with a 6 gallon fuel cell
