I was pulling the engine today and noticed the bell housing is broke . Every single mount is poly. Is this just a fluke or am I gonna have to pull this pos outside and burn it to the ground.
5.3, th350, 205.

Agreed.

Also, the bellhousing bolts have to be tight.

My TH400 bellhousing broke in the exact same spot and the only bolt that wasn't tight was this one, around the break.

Looking at your mounts, I would remove the dual poly mounts on the chassis side and replace them by 1 directly under the transmission..

I'm not sure I'm tracking on the triangle. Can you explain the mounting points

On the left is what you have currently.

On the right is what you should have.

Excuse my Paint CAD skills...

Right now your basically solid mounted with the bushings so far apart. When the frame flexes it's twisting the drivetrain and breaking the case. Like said above move the trans bushing to the center and if you can move the engine bushings from the frame down to the block that'll help as well.

Ok I'll move the trans mount to the center, but what about the t case mounts. Won't those keep it from twisting also? I have a mount on the pto "driver side" and the rear cover on the 205.

Your to rigid.. just let the case hang off trans like it was designed too. You only need a single mount under the adapter.

That J&W bellhousing also doubles as a scattershield. It is a nice part, I put one in my buggy. Just be careful cutting old one off or you will have an extra fill hole in the case :****:

I broke the back off the last th350 doing this.

I may try this also. Sounds cheaper than building a new trans to

yeah I would say support the rear of the trans in the center with a bushing mount and remove your current case mounts. But since th350's are known for breaking at the tail housing I'd run a rear center case mount similar to this.

My trans guy is supplying the case and swapping all the parts for $150.
If it breaks again after the mount changes I'll get that bell housing. Only had 2 bolts holding it in.
It might have broke before I put the engine cage on, I was driving it around without the engine cage around the yard and may have stress the trans and broke it

So I just realized the spacer in the crank for the tq converter to sit in was to long. It also broke my flywheel. I bet that was a part in breaking the housing . I got a new trans ready to go in

It needed a refresh on it anyway, and I came out cheaper getting it rebuilt with a new case
