I cant find a spindle nut socket for the N11 nuts on my 40 spline front axle. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I have to make a custom one.

This is the only thread I found and all the links are dead. https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-4x4-discussion/1563706-40-spline-spindle-nut-socket.html

I wont be paying $500 for a simple spindle socket that should cost $30 - $50. https://www.motionindustries.com/productDetail.jsp?sku=02077143

If you have a local CNC plasma shop they can scan the nut into an image, dimension it and cut out a ring that could be welded to the end of a socket, or cut into a wrench

That is a good option. One of the guys on the pirate link mentioned that too. If I cant find a reasonable priced socket I will make one or have a piece cut like you mentioned.

If that doesn't work I have another I will sell you. I don't need it anymore.

Thanks! My initial thought is no the 2 5/8 is definitely too small. However it looks like the one you have might have been modified by taking material off the inside of the teeth. Let me check and I will shoot you a PM about buying yours.

The W83010 fits my rear 40 spline nuts but they may not be N11. I'm going on memory here and it has been awhile but I'm pretty sure the red one was custom built for the N11 nut and I ordered it from one of the now broken links off that P4x4 thread. The problem I had with it was it is too thick to fit inside a 14 bolt hub. But it should fit inside a front hub.

Andrew, thanks again for the info and offer. I would have taken you up on it had I not already ordered a cheap $13 2 7/8 socket off of amazon to make one before you posted it. I did want to make sure it worked before I said anything though.

I just turned the ID and OD of the socket a little and milled 1/4" keyways in some DOM I had. Seems to work really well.
