John G’s 2013 “Solo Buggy” – Built turn-key by Wide Open Design

Single seat chassis designed for comfort.  It features an opening “driver side” door with cup holder.  The interior is finished out with aluminum panels and a trademark custom Wide Open Design dash.  Each interior side panel is painted to match and has plenty of elbow room at 38” wide.

This is hands down the most capable technical rock crawling machine I’ve ever seen or driven.  There is no better parts list that would increase the performance or capability of this thing on the trail.  Visibility is a 10/10, center of gravity is 10/10, agility is 10/10.

Specs:
383 Stroker
Edelbrock multiport fuel injection
Edelbrock intake
Custom exhaust ceramic coated
Dual PSC steering pumps for front and rear steer
TH350 transmission
Atlas 4.3:1 transfer case (I think)
1350 Drive shafts

Front Axle
GM Dana 60 Kingpin
ARB Locker
4.56 gears
CTM 35 spline inner/outers
CTM ujoints
Wide Open Design link mounts and truss
BTF diff cover
Custom High Steer arms with studs
Custom PSC dual-ended ram mount
PSC full hydro with coolers and big reservoir
Rockcrusher hubs
Yukon lockouts

Rear Axle
Custom Rockcrusher high pinion rear
ARB Locker
4.56 gears
35 spline RCV Performance axles
Full hydro double ended ram with high steer
Yukon lockouts

Suspension
Aluminum links with 1.25” rod ends
14” Fox coilovers with PAC racing springs
Fox air bumps
Currie antirock rear swaybar

Tires/Wheels
39” Red Label Krawlers
17” Raceline Monster beadlocks
Other:
Tmax 9,000 winch
LED rocklights all over
Lazerstar (I think) LED highlights and lightbar
CB radio mounted flush
Autometer white face gauges
Wilwood dual master with single pedal
B&M shifter
Hydraulic Toggle for rear steer
Quick release steering wheel
Custom built aluminum fuel cell
Horn
Crow padded 5pt harness
Ratchet strap for cooler mount
Backup light
Fire Extinguisher
ARB Air Compressor
Weighs 3,833lbs

Comes with tons of spares for everything, including custom length axle shaft assemblies.  John kept anything he might need for a trail repair in his trailer as well as a ton of old parts that were used but good for spares.

Joy, John's daughter, is selling the buggy, but any questions can be sent to me.   I'll be keeping an eye on this thread but any questions can also be emailed to ricky@rickybphotography.com

$40,000

Man, I have rode with this buggy many times! It would go when no other would, I bet the labor bill was more than this to build it, this is a bargain and a chance to own a legend!
