which 38" tires ?

I dont feel you opinion is very valid on tires. You dont have a front locker or longs even. How could you possibly know if your limits were your tires when the rig is lacking the basics?

Tires are one of, if not THE, most important parts of a wheeler....so his point is very valid. Just because he's not locked or have the "cool" parts doesn't make his opinion worth less....:redneck:

Elbe on the 2nd you say????

I just looked they dont make the rocker in a 38" fawk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just dont know that the toy r.p. will hold up to a 39.5.My last zuk had 35's on it and Ive gone real big on this new zuk and i want a bigger step up in tire size.Im just afraid if I go 37's Ill be disapointed and wished id gone bigger.

Well son of a biotch, I'm ditching my dual cases and lockers so then because tires make more of a difference... :haha:

Everything works in concert period. If you don't have lockers you won't go as far as the same rig with themm plain and simple.

Key word there is the same rig but if the rig has diffrent tires that can make up for the locker. Trust me I know and many others have witnessed.

So what about the creepys?

anybody got experiance with them?

Ill continue to do research on it,but **** I can buy the 39.5 pitbull rocker for alot less than I can buy the 38 creepy...idunno what to do at this point.

hoping for more feed back at this point.

I appreciate you guys stepping up and discussing this.:beer:

I dont care if you have stickys, pushing a dead tire up something sucks.

A tire cant get traction if it doesnt turn/drive

so by your logic Josh, you chev truck will run a faster time with a one wheel peel and slicks or a spool and some Grand Am radials?

Interco is the best :fawkdancesmiley:

I am not a viable source of info because I have no locker front locker :fawkdancesmiley:

I will go crawl in a hole :fawkdancesmiley:

As far as the creepy crawlys go I think some of the auburn car repair guys run them. specificaly the guy with the comanchee. get ahold of him.

Wow you are forcing me to agree with chop shop. You're opinion is ****. :haha:

Mike creepy's are a sweet tire but they aren't as good of a trail tire as a pbr or sx from what I've seen and my buddies that I wheel with have experienced. They kick ass in the rocks though. :D

100% disagree I used to run them and will never go back. Until you try a rocker you just wont understand.

I have nothing against the Pit-Rockers.

But since you stated it. It MUST be factual  Now go away:looser:

Thanks Ryan, looking at the tread one would think that also, not sure they would clean out that well.

what happened to the 38" tire crowd, seems like the industry is getting out of that size. Its b.s. thats a great tire size.

The 39.5 pbr is still $120.00 cheaper per tire than the 38" creepy hmmmm

Ive heard alot of talk about the irok 39.5 having to big a carcus for the lug size. The lugs supossedly tend to fold over when aired down and dont provide the traction we want. The 36"irok measures taller than the 37" irok so basiclly you get a jump from a 36"irok all the way up to a 39.5" irok fawk!!!!!!!!!!thats a big jump

Under YOUR "logic", a fully locked truck will go further with bald slicks than an unlocked one with fresh Swampers.....:fawkdancesmiley:
How does a rear locked rig compared to a open one, both with same tires, on ice???

And yes....a car/truck with slicks and an open rear will be QUICKER off the line than a rig with Posi and Grand Ams.....because it is all about TRACTION, tires have more bearing on traction than a spool. The early dragsters (and many still today) run open rear diffs.....:flipoff:
Just because a rear end is open, doesn't mean only one tire is under power....c'mon man....think....

The 36 runs pretty true in size, the 37 is fawking shorter than the 36 but skinnier by a few inches. The 39 is a big fat assed tire in a 15" just like the 42 is. But if you step up to a 39 on 17" wheel you'll get less of the folding issue. I think you know my buddy shawnB, he had a beat to fawk blue 85 long box until he built the red runner.. But anyway, he is on 39" iroks on 15x10 TR beadlocks and under 5 psi they fold over BAD on sidehills and he slides down the hill...

I always liked the 38" size personally, ran 38x12.5 tsl's and a couple sets of 38.5" sx's with great luck. Seems they are pushing 36, 37 and 39" sizes now on larger wheels.. :eeek:

WTF are you talking about? If the rig blows that single legger on slicks off it isn't going to be faster than anything but the speed of the burned rubber cloud around it...

I'd like to see what dragsters are running open diffs... I call horse **** on that one. The only thing you'll find at the track are ricers and high school kids in their beater 80's mustangs. :haha:

Key word here is "if", but it's not going to blow the slicks off, because they get traction....dude, is it really that hard to understand????

Wanna see dragsters running open diffs???? You'll be busy....http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228509&highlight=dragsters+on+motion

Well I'll be dipped, 60's technology runs open diffs while the rest of the world runs spools...

But you've never seen a single legger blow one off eh? Maybe the guys at pacific raceways know something the guys at renegade don't. :haha:

If you want a visual I can take you up to prosser. Can run by and take a peek at 39.5 iroks on 15's, 37" iroks on 15's, 37" pbr's on 16's (they are the same on 17's, 15's run a bit taller but not too much) and 38" sx's on 15's all of which are within a year old on trail trucks so they are all pretty new.

But you've never seen a single legger blow one off eh? Maybe the guys at pacific raceways know something the guys at renegade don't. :haha:

Of course I have, never said I didn't......I've DONE it myself...but saying a car with a spool and crappy radials getting better traction than a car with slicks and open is, well...just an "opinion" from someone who's never tried both.
I've drag raced, (and street raced) for years.....:redneck:

Back to the topic....in 38's, it's hard to beat Swampers for NW wheelin'...
