So what have to sheered off or broke?

Myself I have never sheered wheel studs or ripped steering components off.

steering studs usually fail the same way a wheel stud does.

Overtightened or too loose.

I dont understand the point of this poll?

No boobies or bacon or pizza?

Well, I know it is difficult for you to comprehend simple one sentence questions, so I will make it bigger so you may understand what he is asking.

The point of this thread is to find out which of the two you have either sheered or broken off.

If there are words in there that are too big for you to comprehend(understand) maybe I can have my 2 year old spell it out for you.

He is not asking what causes it or any other pointless"look at what I know" comments.

I broke two steering box sector shafts. One at the CORE challenge (J20 box) and one at Thurston Co. ORV Park (2wd Chev box).

Thanks Phil, I sooo get it now.

Looking for real life statistics.

real life tells me that if you have six steering studs you would have a fair comparison to six wheel studs failing and at what rate?

Pointing out that more people have killed FOUR wimpy steering studs but never broke 6 wheel studs is not proving anything?

Get some six shooters and then remove two wheel studs. Then report back on breakage.

Busted lots of yota steering studs, guess they don't like full hydro and 42's.. :redneck:
I attribute the failures to the knuckle threads being beat up from being stressed constantly. High steer arms don't help at all either as they put odd leverage on the hardware not just sheer forces.

Busted lots of yota wheel studs thanks to les schwabies impact monkey's but never all at the same time.

nothing shear or broke yet as far as steering but I do have a slightly twisted sector shaft. :awesomework:

He knows what causes it. Exactly why I dont understand the point of this poll

I think every lug stud I have seen failed personally has been to in-correct toque. Same can be said with toy arms..

The poll should have been, "how many failures have you had due to not properly tightening things.

Has nothing to do with material strength. Both can be broke with stupidity not carnage.

Not going to argu--instead removed you from the poll and I will clean the BS from the thread here in a while

Start your own thread then, and leave your garbage out of this one.

I still think you should start a "know it all" thread, and just argue with yourself. You tend to argue with anybody over anything. You can't manage to answer a simple question.
The poll has options for you to click on. If none of them apply to you, then, you guessed it.......don't click on one. :cheer:

Spec I found when I did my hi-steer was 70 ft lbs...haven't had a single issue with it either...However I did also locktite the nuts...

voted two spots...

I forgot about my old 75 Chev shorty, this happened about 15 yrs ago...thanks to the schwab impact junkies...got tires rotated the day before a trip to Oregon dunes...got quad loaded, and made it down thereok, but the quad broke, and I had to head to Coos bay for a $2 woodruff key...pulled into the parking lot of ATV shop, and all 6 RR lugs sheered off!!! (lucky...); Stamper tire (independent Schwab) sent out a service truck changed the lugs/studs for me---no charge!!! I sat and watched him do the job...making sure the wheel wasn't overtorqued...THAT was the last time they touched my truck...
I haven't sheered or broken any studs, steering or otherwise on the wheeler...
*knocks on wood*

I had the opposite happen, get my tires rotated at Sedro-Woolley schwabies, the next night, heading down Baker Lake highway, i get a bad deathwobble, pull over, and find 2 lug nuts missing and 2 finger tight!

Needless to say, I only let my buddies that work at schwabies touch my rig now, no new guys.
