How is your rig swaying on the trailer dangerous

Go back to your reading. I am done.

Put it this way. The body started rocking back and forth, So much that the tires had impressions of dirt from the wheel wells. Well while it did this at 60mph rocking back and forth, the trailer started to do its own thing. then causing the the back of my dually to sway all over the road. I tried to speed up and pull out of it, but it came back and worse. So I pull over and cinch the body down and then it pulls like a champ.

That is why I cinch down the body. I should clarify my bumper are not typical bumpers. The front is 2x4" 3/8'' thick, secured firmly to the front of my frame. Basically it is the frame. My rear is the same.

Here's the type of straps I use. 1 in each corner, These aren't coming lose unless I get in a wreck.

Every vehicle manufactured has factory tie downs on the frame.

And the factory tells the consumer that their "tie down points". If no then that's not what they are......
My vehicle doesn't have any tie down points.

You took ONE line out of all I wrote and replied???? You really do have   .

I call BS BS BS. And then you show a picture of AXLE tie down straps??? :looser: You wasted money on fancy AXLE TIE DOWNS and then tie down to your frickin bumper??
I really got to see this rig that sways so much it is dangeous. Cause I can air up my suspension and I KNOW my Jeep sways more than yours and tow it with JUST the axles tied down and it isn't going to cause problems. Sure you just don't load with enough tounge weight?

I have a question:
For those of you who tie down to your bumpers/frame. Do you find that your suspension begins to sag prematurely? Is this even something to worry about?

Sounds like you didn't have enough tongue weight, if the trailer was wagging your dually around like that. IMO, some body sway on the rig on the trailer would NOT be enough to get the trailer swaying, unless the tongue was too light. And yeah, that **** is scary when it happens... my first instinct, like everybody elses probably, is to hit the brakes. I was able to slow down and keep control of things, but it left a big stain in my pants, because I was coming down the west side of Stevens Pass.

Yes because you are compressing the suspension down while traveling on the trailer thus causeing extra wear and tear to the vehicle that if you tied to the axles wouldnt happen:awesomework:

just remember most trailers have a wooden deck which is by far weaker than the tie downs or binders of whatever material.

when jason and trevor had thier incident didnt the rig survive the first rollover before the trailer decking broke, which the rig was then seperated from the trailer?

ever see a tow truck? they tie all vehicles down by the axels or tires not the frame.......:redneck:

if by chance the suspension is damaged then they tie it down with alternate methods solidly.

I only felt like responding to one of your concern's. The rest of your post was jibber jabber. :flipoff:

How is $50 for a set of 4 wasting money?? (ebay):flipoff:

Jibber Jabber?? Pot meet Kettle!! :haha: :haha: :haha:
I asked some good questions and you can't/don't have a GOOD answer so your just going to ignore them.

It is a waste of money because they are made for one purpose but your trying to use them for something they are not. To help you understand it is like buying a hooker and bringing her home and trying to make her a wife!!  Two totally different purposes. Understand now?

all I hear is bla bla bla. Excuses why you want to go against the law and not do it properly. :flipoff:

You say I haven't answered your questions. I'm sure I have in the many previous posts. I'm tired of repeating myself. I go through and around the frame.I know what works for my scenario and you know what works for yours. Unfortunately I'm within the law and your not :flipoff:

ding ding ding!!! I think we have a winner!!

Something is wrong. IIRC, isn't Joops rig SUA as well??? How the heck does it have that much sway??

In the end it doesn't really matter. As I said in the other thread, if the truck doesn't shift around then the odds are good it won't go anywhere. HOWEVER, with straps to the body/frame, the snapping motion that *can* occur is more likely to prematurely fatigue or cause failure of the tie-down method than a more secure arraignment such as to the axles. Trailering our rigs it apples to oranges compared to the military, car transport co. or tow trucks.

So basically, JOOP loads AND secures his rig like a drunken five year old girl :flipoff:

I drive a bit faster than needed and Ive drifted the dually/trailer combo with my truck on it before and didnt have a problem. Who'd have thought, the time I spent tying shiat down for a living when I drove flat bed semi might have helped... :flipoff:
