When camping at rieter

cut up a 55 gallon barrel, and weld a ring on the bottom to elevate it. it's worked for me numerous times. it only takes about 20 minutes to make. you make 2 or 3 cuts, then weld together. i like the barrel shorter, about half as deep as a 55g... then with the removed part, trim down to about 6 inches and weld on the bottom to keep it elevated. non-uniform sides allows it to suck in a bit of air and burn hot.

if you go down to SODO and poke around youre bound to find a barrel for free, too. i found a whole trashed stockpile of them once.:awesomework:

Crusher

I took a 700lb crusher cone up there a while back and that worked fine!! seriously! got in from iron mountain rock quarry. happened to be moving it so just brought it along....used the winch and two of us to move it!:haha:

I didn't know what the hell it was for untill the fire was in it.

And watching you unload that huge thing from the trailer was awesome.

:awesomework:

Can we permintaly mount some elevated fire pits out there that would help outwith those who can read and chose not to follow the rules. if no one knows the answer pm me some # and ill get the answers. It would be worth the time and $ if it get'sridof some of the negative publicity. I am sure I could find some materail aroundbase that is not needed or can be transfered to dnr from the navy. I am a logistics specailist.

So it really does not sound like dnr wants a solution to there problems they want them gone who is in charge of dnr is that federal or state

DNR just don't want fires. But really, all you need is a portable pit, the forsite to bring it and some wood.

We never have one when camping......too busy running the good ****.

Yeah, I have all of that and I will be bringing it this weekend I am just thinking about the teenagers that go out on friday nights that dont that just gives dnr one more thing to add to their long list of things to shut o.h.v. areas down for I just wrote a e-mail to the wa commisoiner of public lands so we will see what he says.

Here is a flier that the DNR is putting out. Since most of the Reiter ORV area is on their property (DNR land), these are some of the rules you must follow while enjoying the trails:
