Ive been wheelin Subaru for the last few years and befor that I did Quads 3-wheelers and gokarts, well Im ready to build my next offroad wheeler , these are what I want

under 2000 Lbs preferable 1500 Lbs
31 or 33" tires
road legal
low gears and road gears
haul 4 adults out of the weather
towable with a tow bar
cheep to build and repair use readly avalible junk auto parts

well what have you guys built or saw out there ?
what would you build within these peramitores?

basically a road legal ATV

Other than the four adult thingy, just get an old wore out Oddysee.:011:

Sounds perfect.:awesomework:

I think just buying a tow rig will end you life long search for the nonexistant perfect DD do everthing wheeler.

Wait, just get an xj, its perfect for you.

The only thing that would fit into all those parameters would be a sami. Smaller yet would be an LJ, 1300 lbs, 50"wide, 8' long, but parts availability sucks. If you'd like the best place to find one for sale, go here, go to the forums, then L series for sale. Aside from that, get a yugo and go to town with the sawzall and welder. :haha:

I think you just described a UTV.... lol

I could go with a small car and add the 4x stuff, I have a old 70 honda AN600 I could use for the body and tilte that thing is only 52" wide, would be nice to have a removable top too

You could go with a 2 door Tracker build. Still a bit on the heavy side though, they start around 2,400 lbs for the 2 doors. But you could throw Trail Toughs new 'Undertaker' reduction box on it and some stock Toyota axles and be set for 33" tires.

from the sounds of it, your prob right chop shop.:haha:

If it was me i would atleast get something worth wheelin such as jeep, toyota, **** even a samurai lol..

How about an old AMC Eagle.

There 4x4 already, they even come in a station wagon.

See one once with air shocks fully loaded and toreshon bars fully adjusted, the guy had 31" under it with room for bigger.
