plain and simple its way too tall and way too stiff. not sure on the front springs but the rears are tg 5" and they suck. the front aren't so bad but still pretty stiff. my main concern is the rear for now though, i have in mind some 2wd f150 rears for my rears, it already has bilstiens i believe 12" but they'll need to be relocated. any inputs on what i should do? it needs to be steerable but about 3-4" lower and softer. thanks in advance!!

Both, I think it has tg springs in the front also, seems like the guy just built it to have a big truck:cheer:

Add weight to the rig? Take a leaf or 2 out? break them in? Shorter shackles?

Depends on what you want it to end up as.

fix your shackle angle in the back by moving the shackle mount forward. take a leaf out front and back. trim fenders as necessary.

- only if the springs really are tg. take a pic of the springs front and rear.

Do what chopshop says if you got some time and money. If you want to keep your springs you have now (they look/sound like their almost new springs), heres what you need to do- no joke, go jump your truck a few times, go down some REAL bumpy trails fast as you can, flex that thing out much as you can. I usually just do that just by going wheeling couple times a week but thats how you can accelerate the break-in of your new springs. My buddy had TG springs f & r and that thing was stiff as a rock! Didnt flex worth a damn either. Just by wearing them in they actually do really good now, nice and soft and flex pretty good. Dont take leafs out! The rest of the leaf pack will bend, just warning you.

My two cents, for what its worth :awesomework:

Since the bed is bobbed some 57" Ford springs might be better for the rear. The front shackle angle is a little off too.

rear shackle angle (or lack there of)
the rears say TG5" 1100????
but im not really sure because i have to be able to drive it to the trail and to work and such so.....

im leaning towards ruf and f150's, problem is that the only junkyard near here wants $180 for one set of leafs so stock sets are going to be spendy. i was thinking about removing some leaves but im afraid it will be too flexy and don't want to risk breaking any. but the rears do seem fairly new or at least never wheeled on because they didn't even notch the lower part of the bed where the shackles would hit if flexed and those spots have never been impacted by the shackles.
