91 xj "FEEP CHEROPLORER"

Scored a free hp dana 30 so i slaped the 3.73,ziplocker, new ps inner and outer in the free dana 30---got it all done and installed. The dash is all set up with switches and lights. :puke: Skyjacker :puke: adjustable lower links are instaled pics incoming

**update**
***the build is back on im back on budget with a little help from a friend! ***

So with the help of a friend I decided to do a budget build .....( and not a plumb cent more than what my budget allowed!!!!). From a lot of discussion I have found That people have a very hard time sticking to a budget. So I took some advice and sat down with a piece of paper wrote out 3 sections. 1.reliability 2.make it wheel 3.cool factor. after revamping a few times and eliminating aftermarket bumpers, fender flares, and other "not necessary crap" I had a nice parts list and a buffer for unseen complications in this build.

-----so what i have for a final build-------

keep the Dana 30 high pinion-putting in a Yukon replacement passenger axle kit along with a zip locker with 373's......i will explain why I'm going with 373's.

Replacing the rear with an 8.8 that has 373s and not in the budget to re-ring both front and rear. -----done

Airaid air filter and new exhaust from the manifold back----done

tuneup along with valve cover and oil pan gaskets flex-a-lite fan-ball joints---done

on board air using the stock 709t a/c pump----done

bulldog wench----not in the budget

skyjacker 3in flex economy kit---done

not going to screw with the 231 tcase really want a slip yolk eliminator but just not in the budget and i think i will be ok if I'm nice to my rig.

and an exocage----- not in the budget

I have started working on the "cheap" stuff so far. yesterday with the help of an almost overly intelligent friend i set up my on board air (using my a/c pump).

and it works :)

I will be posting pics and updating often. Would also love some input

gonna weld the rear? if it's not you're preferred gear set than I would do it. real cheap too:redneck:

it has some sort of posi ....and im geting the axle for $200 so because im on this budget its not exactly what i want its better than nothing. plus i will be driving it on the highway so the next step will be a ziplocker for the rear....

also pics incoming

couple pics of the jeep

the switch set up for the on board air the on/off switch is a light up and the green light next to it is set up on the back side of the presure switch so when the pump is running i will get a green light when its not running i will just have a red "power on" switch

Any one know where i can get the replacment yoke or the bolt on unit to convert it so i can use a cherokee front driveline in the rear??

perches all adjusted and welded in geting ready to bolt every thing down. also does any one know if you have to use wheel spacers for the 8.8 swap..... it looks very close to me

shouldnt need wheel spacers. im not 100% on the xj's though. i know my yj doesnt need them but i believe its also narrower (actual word?).

Edit:
Depending on your location and if in the future you want to weld it, the guy in Monroe that did it for me is very cool. He's thinking of starting Davis Offroad as a fab/welding/jeep and yota shop out of his garage. Very knowledgeable and very good at fab work. I can give you his number if you want.

ya sure that would be great.... the reason im not puting a spool or welding it is its a d-d for the wife in the snowy weather ...if it was welded poor thing would be doing whoop de doos all the way to work :)......but i would still like his number

i suck at welding its been around 15 years since i picked up a welder...... but today is a new day so im back at it!!
