I'm converting a '86 14 bolt to disk. Does it look like I got the setup correct? It looks like it maybe too far in, but I don't see any other way. It is mocked up so I can build the bracket for the caliper.

I like to fabricate my own stuff but there are so many people who sell the 14 bolt disc bracket that I would just by one. Buy one with the right bend or the spacers so your caliper is in the right spot or your braking will be uneven as will be your brake pad wear. Spend time fabricating something else. Just so you know I've done 3 disc brake conversions on 14b and buying the correct bracket a headache saved. That aside, if your rotor assembly is mounted proper and torqued to spec it's in the right spot. Good luck

You're on the right track, the rotor looks correct and in the right spot. If you're going to buy brackets, get the kind that have a bend in them rather than the ones that use spacers that bolt in at the housing. I have that kind, and had to weld the spacers to the bracket, bolt the brackets on, and then weld the spacers to the housing. The spacers had enough wiggle that no matter how tight I torqued the bolts down, the brackets would always come loose.

The diy4x4 ones I bought are the bent type with gussets welded on them, very nice product... I think they were around $50...

Edit::: Here's a pic of the diy4x4 brackets...
