Road to the rock garden?

Thats the closest so far...

The pic is roughly 200' from rieter road looking towards the road.

Odd seeing the power lines now from the road but this has been pre-planned for some time and this is also the location for the permanent parking area.

Isnt that kind of far from the current trails? Im guessing a trail will be developed in the mean time. Thats close to the rock garden, maybe we get that back :)?

Yes the rock garden area is on the books to be used and as it sits a large play area like it used to be.

I am still unsure how they are going to get us from the parking area to the trail heads but there has been talk about that section of road open for ORV travel from parking to the Deer creek road.. We will have to see on that.

Good to hear rock garden will be accessable and like it used to be. As for trail access it would almost make sense to have trails branching out from the parking area that go down and meet the beginning of the current trails. Idk im not dnr haha but this is exciting:awesomework:. Never got to experience old reiter since i just finished high school when it was shut down.

There simply wasn't enough land for it to be like that. A nice aspect of where its going is the fact its damn near flat/require the least amount of $$ to build.

That has long been changed, there will be an engineered constructed trail through the area... the big play area as talked about in the past as a big fenced off area isn't going to happen... Now that does not mean "the trail" through the area won't have branches and loops...

I do not see 4x4 in that area for may years from now... I suspect it will be last on the list and I suspect the motorcycle/quad trail head and trunk trail being built over there first but again I think it will be 2 or more years down the road as DNR will need to build several bridges (at the very least one) to connect the 2 areas.
