So the poor dodge has been neglected for far too long and a few months vack the lift pump started getting weak. So maxx hooked me up with a new Fass system.

My edge comp box had been getting corky and decided to go with the attitude with the bigger touchscreen and turbo timer. After some time with it i was very happy with it..

Next the steering. After 200k i was tired of the slop and damb near no assist in parking lots.. The pump was pretty easy to do but after replaced oil was dumping out the seal between the pump and vacuum pump. So if ya got miles on it get the pump kit and replace that seal.

So the Cardone box lasted only a couple years. I had read about the redhead boxes but i could not justify spending 120% more on a box and heard guys still having boxes fail. At work we use AC Delco boxes with great results and the cost it was very appealing so i grabbed one. Compared to the Cardone its a much nicer unit.

I looked at the track bar next and it wasn't in too bad of shape--for 200k I was impressed.

So I chose to rebuild it for 2/3 cost of a replacement.

I ordered the parts from Lukes Link and they should be here in a few days.

Oh ya i got full life outa my tires and scored some freebes from work to get me thru summer..

So next the steering linkage itself. I hated the damn Ybar setup and I could always tell the toe changing when I towed.

Some digging and I was able to compile a list of all the MOOG parts needed to swap it to the Tbar setup and another option besides that.

DS1456-Long tie rod
DS1459-Draglink
ES3494-Left tie rod
ES3527-Top tie rod at pitman
ES2012S-Small adj sleeve
ES3498S-Large adj sleeve

So the second option is a HD mopar kit that comes with everything and actually isn't priced to bad.

Part number 52122362AL

The best price I found for the kit

http://moparonlineparts.com/oemparts.php?partstr=/52122362al.html

I ended up ordering the kit as it was still cheaper with shipping than sourcing the parts even thru amazon.

So its gutted waiting for the rest of the parts.

I just installed all this stuff on a 3rd gen yesterday... that delco box is a beast.. I think it takes after what they are putting on the 4th gen trucks now. The pitman arm shaft is huge, I think I needed a 1-13/16" socket for the nut. beef!

I have heard a reference to a 3rd gen box upgrade on the second gen trucks but I have not researched it yet.

That was pretty simple and straight forward..

People have adapted a 3rd gen box to the 2nd gen. But that isn't done much anymore. The Borgeson box is a bolt on version. But without the issues. Mine looks good bolted to the frame. Wish I knew what it felt like.

Looks good Mike. I need to do this to mine, been sloppy since I have had it. I also want to regear.....soooo many wants
