My dilemma.

Rear discs on semi float axle. The actual rotor sits out too far to mount the weld on caliper mount. I need to have the rotor in closer, so basically i need to find out how a rotor hat is measured. Is it like a wheel?? I could take a pic if necessary

i had the same issue on my nine inch. i searched thru all the lug nut studs available and finally found some that would allow me to mount the rotor on the back side of the axel flange.

it did two good things:

moved it far enough in to mount easily.
rotor is not loose when i remove rear wheels.

basically the rotor hat needs to stay at the same mounting surface, but the actuall braking surface needs to move in towards the centersection.

I'll take a pic and post it up later tonight. Marc knows whats going on, Pics do a better job explaining.

Allright, here we go. As it sits right now the caliper bracket would have to be welded on the bearing housing...Bad. Knowing my luck i'll find a new rotor and i'll have to weld the caliper mount ontop of the housing end weld...anyway i need to move it in at least a inch..
