Very nice work!! It looks great! sorry I don't have door for you but I will see if I can find a reasonable one for you.

I appreciate it... If you come across someone who is looking for electric windows/door locks, I would like to trade the guts from the passenger side front and rear doors with someone with manual windows. I have no need for power accessories.

I still need a 4 runner driver door (preferrably w/out power). The driver rear door has already been replaced with manual guts...

Thanks for checking

are you gonna have room for the back seats? mine is super tight...

yeah, I put sat back there with the seats, etc and it was fine. I have two small kids that will ride back there most of the time anyway.

I like the runner btw. Gotta love copped up 2nd gens...

Got some more parts from UPS so I put the bodywork/sheetmetal work on hold to work on getting the motor, tranny and cases assembled.

I got rid of teh LSPV and ordered up this wilwood copy from speedway motors. Super fast shipping btw and cheap...

I went back and forth with what to do with my drivetrain since I am running a ford v6. I have two W56 trannies and already purchased my MC07 adapter and donor tcase. I decided to run the W56 behind the ford motor. I hope I don't regret it in the long run.

Advance Adapters doesn't sell a Ford small block to toy tranny adapter, only North West Offroad. I couldnt justify spending $700 on an adapter that may end up not working out. I decided to order a scatter shield from Speedway Motors. I got this idea off 4x4wire a while back....

The next step was to center the bellhousing onto the W56 and get ready to start cutting.

We created a fixture to hold bellhousing center with the tranny based off measurements taken off of the block. I am very happy with the end result. I used Socket Head Cap Screws that I had purchased long ago for my hub spacers and also re-used both bellhousing dowel pins. Took a long time....

And now mated to the motor... I still need to pull it apart to put a clutch, etc. in. I have a new Toyota clutch that obviously won't work so I need to sell that and buy a Ford pressure plate and clutch with the correct spline to match the tranny.

That was it for Saturday. Today, I assembled the cases and chim- crossmember. Pretty simple installation thanks to the 4RnrRick directions...

Next time, I plan to get the drivetrain mounted up. I'm going flat belly, so I will need to stock up on more sawzall blades..... That will have to wait until after the upcoming vasectomy surgery.

:D

I plan to get down there again in a couple weeks. I go in for a vasectomy on Friday which will put a "crunch" on progress....

I couldn't remember who I stole the idea from for using a scatter shield for a bellhousing adapter.

That'll NEVER work. I can't believe you listened to... uh...

Call up Advanced and order the bits, or find a local place that can rebuild your clutch disk -- most major metropolitan areas have vendors that can rework clutch disks. Marlin Crawler may have this part on his shelf, as well.

ready for primer and paint. Not perfect by any means, but good enough for a trail rig.

rattle can black. Not sure what color I want, but the paint at least seals up the body work, etc...
