    ORV open during gov shutdown?

My kids and I are going to hit the trails tomorrow and we’re noticing some chatter online about some possible gate closures at off-road parks right now due to the government shut down. Figured this is the place to ask if anyone knows if our local parks are affected? Is the gate to Reiter open...

Tire size and trail damage--my prospective.

Size plays in but so does the tread, in my opinion. Lets take Boggers for instance, they DO dig down quicker than say an MTR. Also the width of tires like boggers leave a much larger foot print, which i would think would equate to more damage. I don't think jeeps of the past on 33" goodyears...

Sobor driver or 3 sheets to the wind

the sober ones in organized groups of 5+ rigs has to have a bigger impact over time than the drunks. How many trails do drunken partiers cover in a given day vs the hard core jeep groups who tour the whole park? I vote Sober offroad clubs, bigger impact over time

    Older wheeler or new recruit.

new recruits can't afford things like 44 boggers and full width axles with Vortec power. How much damage can some kid do in a Nissan pathfinder vs all of our overly built rigs? New guys don't have super swampers, WE do. Those deep ruts that get complained about aren't from drunken highschool...

    i need your opinion...

If your looking to build a capable wheeler and keep it around for awhile then I'd go with the yota. Sounds like a project though. Just be carefull your not getting someone elses problem. Especialy if yours is turn key ready to go. I traded for a toyota a couple years ago and it took me...

    Toyota Steering Question

I ran this setup on my samurai. 3/4 with 5/8ths bolt I think. They wore out and made the rig handle like crap. Seemed fine until they had any play in them. My ball joints are worn out on my toyota now and I can barely tell. When my heims wore out you can here it going over every bump on the...

    Chainsaw use on the trail?

I always carry one, you never know. You guys are sounding like the greenies now. I've been hung up on stumps and needed to cut my way free. I've slid off trail into vine maples and cut my way out. I've also cut huge swaths of forest a 100' wide to form a fire break during a hellish fire in...

What have you seen go bye bye...

I used to see trucks rolling through town all the time with Mud all over them. We still have a ton of teenagers driving lifted half tons all over town, but their never covered in mud anymore. Sad state of affairs when you can't even go mudding, even if it is :rb: teenagers like it, I know I...

    Reiter Stories

When I first got my dual cases I thought I could crawl up anything. Tried the middle line going up the rock wall one afternoon with my buddy, Luke Wrysch. Things were looking good and we were laughing as we inched our way up. Then the front end slid to the left and all I could hear was our...

    questions about the couplers?

I have one. It sounds like a good idea untill you need the winch and you have to lift it into place. I'm not a small guy and it's still a pain to retreive a winch from behind your seat. You can't leave them on because they stick way out there. Where to store it was an issue as well. I felt...

    tire's???????????

Agreed. Can't go wrong with Iroks. I have had 0 problems with mine. But I think you can't really go wrong with SX's or TSL's either.
