Jeep Dodge Chrysler Techs! Please help!

well, this is actually more of a problem with Chrysler's interpretation of what the "SERVICE CONTRACT" is and how it should be handled. Chrysler has a 3rd party field the phone calls from the customers, but they aren't technical by any means and do not understand that the software required to...

Jeep Dodge Chrysler Techs! Please help!

So, my wife and I recently (10/25/08) a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited w 5.7L hemi for our daily driver. We purchased the vehicle from a JEEP dealership and because the mileage was so low (27,500) we were able to qualify for the Chrysler Maximum Care Service Contract (the Chrysler...

Jeep repair shop Edmonds area (or help)

So, the rear output seal around the driveshaft is bad? You'll have to remove the driveshaft to get to the pinion seal. At that time, it's pretty easy to get to the transfer case seal.. The speedo gear sensor on the t-case can be done easily as well. just be careful when removing it to note the...

    ARB locker question

I run mine off my OBA system. I have a 2.5gallon tank on my fenderwell and it's regulated down to 100psi for the solenoids.. I like the fact I can run the arbs all day off the tank for the most part. not a bad failsafe if your oba compressor goes out. I'm going to rig my system so there is a...

    Learnd my lesson

I wish I would have just coughed up the extra dough for a TJ when I bought my jeep back in '01.. After driving my fiancee's TJ, I'm so coil spring jealous it's not funny.. but I'm almost done with my YJ.. at least, it's got lockers, tires, lift, bumpers, winch... etc.. all the important stuff...

    New product from warn?

I like my 12cfm york w/ 2.5 gallon air tank. I seriously doubt I can run an impact gun off the warn winch.. and I'll keep my hs9500i thanks. Now, if warn came out with a seperate air compressor that had nothing to do with your winch, that might be good. I'm a big fan of warn stuff.. but not...

    Impact gun

???? well, I may not have a lot of air for an impact gun, but an OBA setup with a york and a 2.5 gallon tank will provide enough air to knock the bolts of wheels and usually what you need to get done. Set the hand throttle so the engine revs at 2K and it'll usually get the job done.

    Shop tools vs trail tools.

Well, I'm in the crowd of all tools I have are in my rig when I wheel since I don't have a shop of my own, nor do I have the $$$ to get some high quality tools just for the shop. I have a selection of stuff from Craftsman/husky whatever parts store had of Sockets/wrenches, air impact...

    Track bar questions

I have a SOA '95 YJ w/ 35" tires and I took my track bars off and haven't looked back. I do have 6 leaf spring packs, in which to be honest, are TOOO stiff. I'd like to get a traction bar/anti-wrap setup in the rear (different from a track bar) and go with Grand Waggy springs. I run most of...

    Impact gun

I'll second the vote for an IR air impact gun. Took off all 6 of my rusty belly pan bolts off in about 30 seconds.. The cheapy schucks/harbor frieght ones I've had and they are ok to take on the trail with ya and bang it around and use it to change tires/etc if ya got OBA.. I wouldn't want...

YJ Ford 8.8 swap disc brake issues.

Who makes an aftermarket porportioning valve that would be worth of this swap out? As, I'm running the stock MC on mine, I definately could use a new valve so I can get some braking power back.

    3/4 elliptic spring Q

 lol.. yotadudes.... heheh.. j/k actually, I can't really contribute intelligently as to what a yota would best use for an ellip setup like the one you are going for, but 2.5" springs from YJ's/XJ's seems to be the way a lot of people go.

TRAIL DAMAGE!.. need some help fixing! Driveshaft

Yes.. it's a stock shaft for a '95 YJ. The closed length isn't the issue.. (and for the life of me, I can't remember what the stock closed length is).. The main problem is the travel (or there lack of) when the axle droops.. mainly when going over the bouncy potholes.. (grrrrr.) now I need to...

TRAIL DAMAGE!.. need some help fixing! Driveshaft

Well, actually, Just need to know where to go for getting my slip lengthened on my front driveshaft. Last time I went wheeling in Reno, I went over some potholes and bounced the jeep pretty good.. Since I have a shackle reverse on my jeep, the axle swung forward and pulled the driveline until...

swapping the jeep Dana35c for a ford 8.8

I did this to my '95 YJ as well. mountain offroad engineering has good install kits for putting an 8.8 in EITHER a YJ or TJ! look for them at www.mountainoffroad.com . I'm running 35"s on my rig and I love the 8.8. One suggestion though is to get a really decent heavy duty differential...
