    2 stroke on the trails

i always love a good 2 v. 4 stroke debate:beer: Ive always thought, if they put as much time, technology, and precious metals into a 2 cycle, 4 strokes wouldnt catch on. but they did. in bikes of all things. look at snowmobiles, e-tec 2 strokes raised the bar. technology taken from outboard...

anybody been riding? post up some pics. i just been feeling out my cheap little junkyard sled lately. took it up to my parents place over christmas for some rips around the lake. got a better motor to put in it, but this one rips supisiingly good for low compression.

^i found the 42/34 helix slp reccomends to be too aggressive for the ultra in the mountains. straight 36 that came stock in my old SKS was perfect. This one has a straight 34 :eeek: maybe that was stock in an rmk? ill be swapping in a 36 anyways. Anybody go to the sno expo? i snuck over...

mine has an slp airbox, seems to fit perfect. never knew those fit the ultra.. I would draw the line on replacing the suspension personally. them older x-10 suspensions are good for steep stuff with the rear scissor arm stops in place. I had more control climbing with my old one than my last...

hmm i do not recall the 98-99 setup having longer spindles. maybe the 00-01? its been too long... i dont think i will bother with longer shocks or edge chassis stuff on this. feels good to have another one sittin in the shop again tho! old school.

i hear that. hey, you have the rmk version right? my last one was an sks. I see why you were talkin about raising the front a few pages back now, this rmk sits loowww. the sks i had previously had easily 2" more travel. ski alignment was kinda goofy when i narrowed it. anyways... i think...

i remember when the hot thing to do was drop a 670 rotax, or 809 triple into your polaris. some things never change. polaris chassis+doo power = win:D:beer:

interesting take. im not impressed with any of the standard 2 cyl. 2 strokes anymore myself. I'll ride em all though, and have fun doin it! not sure what to think of the '13 summit. two wheel kit sounds good, 2.5" track will dominate, but the tmotion suspension im skeptical of. i see the...

close. that is a well known hill. couldn't believe nobody else was up there. youguys think polaris or cat will ever get their hands on the e-tec technology? thats the best motor on the snow imo, wicked top end, just hard to get the hang of the doo chassis in some situations. i know they...
