Not likely that the truck side is bad, but is possible. I would borrow someone's controller before replacing it, it could be something in the pigtail from the controller to the truck

Did you replace the plug too? I have had this happen to me 2 times, and it was the plug itself. The contacts where the wire bolts to the terminals was corroded, loose, and got hot. I replaced the plug for less than $10, fixed it.

My mother in laws did the same thing, it was the injector. Swap the #2 with another injector and see if the missfire moves, if so then thats your problem.

Its really personal preference. If you're on a tight budget, then the rocks are a good option, the weight is down low so they dont hurt that much. I have had both and i would rather have the rocks over tons, the cost to strength isnt even close. With an unlimited budget the dana 80s with 2" RCVs...
