Re: Re: 3DB Crawler build by Cutlerfab Thanks! I do believe it is stronger, along with much of the top trophy truck teams. Look at the latest top ultra 4 cars as well. You will see very few bent tubes versus correctly done miters and tube junctions such as these. When you bend a tube, it has become deformed (out of round) and you inherently weaken that section. This style of junction along with a mitered joint really lends to my build style, because I really don't enjoy bending tube. You would be hard pressed to find a tube, with more than one bend per length of tube, in any build I have ever done. Not to mention - to me anyway, this is much easier than determining the clocking of the notch to the bend to get the desired cant of the bends in plane with the chassis design and body. I did most of this on the table, then carried to the chassis and plopped her down, first shot. I can appreciate and respect those that are tubing masters at creating a flowing, curvy rig; but that's just not my style. Correct. There will be a bar following the seat contour, along with some plate work toward the back that ties into the shock mount plating on top of the motobilt inner fender, and incorporates the shoulder harness mounts.
