Warn Winch Controllers

I snapped one of the pins off on my controller and it's a 5 pin. What is the difference in the 3 and 5 pin controllers besides price. It's a M8000 so no temp monitoring or anything.

I believe the 5 wire has two grounds for safety in getting the wires cut. Three wire does not.

No experience with the 5 pin.
The 3 pin does not have a ground. There is a power feed to the switch. Then it is directed to in/out terminals onto one of the other two wires.

I changed mine from 5 pin over to 3 pin.. U can google a wiring diagram. It's easy to do

Guessing I'm buying a new controller so I was just wondering the difference. Much as the damn things cost I've considered getting one of the harbour freight wireless kits and trying it.
