I have only two reasons why it should stay closed. 1) Cost. It will cost money and time. While people can spend time doing what they want, I think it'd be better spent making sure Walker Valley is up to standards and getting the trail plan for Reiter finished. And if DNR has to spend more than a few dollars to keep this road open, then it should be a no go. We need that money for better things. 2) Being 'open' ... this is False. Its not open. But people would be misled to believe it is. So you'll get people coming to Reiter hearing that keyword, and get to the gate where some volunteers will inform them they're wrong and that its just a road. I see the benefits of having it open Charlie, but I think the downsides still outweighs them. And we need to remember, NWW, while big, is not the whole 4x4 community. We're just a fraction. Heck, with Reiter still closed we get people rushing to the place... can you imagine when the rumor spreads that its 'open'? DNR has many roads already that are open to ORV use. Let people use those roads and keep them away from Reiter. We've already screwed up by closing it, but opening it now would be pointless unless we had a place for people to go (aka trails).
