THROWING A 5.3 IN A 94 CHEVY
just wondering what fuel syatem are y'all running on buggies without using the stock tank/pump

trickflow from summit.no issues at all.they are 100 bucks.filter and pump..done.

the 02 motor should have the fuel pressure regulator right there on the fuel rail... if its been swapped the magic number is 58psi on these motors IIRC...

I'm pretty sure Trickflow = Airtex.

Airtex e8228

Airtex e8248 is the same price, size,, shape, and fittings but flows more at the same pressure in case one ever wanted to go to a more powerful motor.

yep, that's the one I meant to post:

8248 = 70gph 120 psi $136
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATX-E8248/

8228 = 38gph 125 psi $106
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATX-E8228/

Trick Flow = 43gph 85 psi $115 and it comes with a relay/wiring/fuse looks like the same mounting and plunbing as the Airtex pumps

Trick flow pump looks like the best value.

That Walbro pump is all metal and looks just like the ones Holley sells in their "kits"

I'd say any of them would work just fine for a 5.3.

Sometimes you can find them even cheaper on Amazon.

i have had the trick flow for a year on my buggy.no issues at all.running a 01 5.3.part #tfs-25004.thats the kit.they do offer it without the relays and wiring.its 90 bucks. they also have the summit pump its the same pump.# sum-g3138 thats only 82 bucks.

e8248 is $90.79 on rockauto.com. Just do a part number search for e8248. Once you sign up for an account they send you regular discount codes via email for another 5% off, whichs brings ti down to $85.25. The 8228 is $76.99 on Rockauto.

I believe most fo the Summit brand pumps are also rebadged Airtex.

just make sure you mount the pump close to the tank and below it if you can.the trick flow is not that load eather.i have heard some other pumps and i would shoot myself if i had to listen to that load ass wining all day.lol.

Rock auto is awesome.

I have a an shop account at Napa and get the same pricing as all other Napa auto care shops and a lot of the time Rock Auto is still cheaper :****:

the 5% off usually covers shipping too

I have a shop account at Advance and its the same. Not even the shop account price can match Rockauto most of the time.

I read several posts on the great interweb about the e2000 and them failing. This could possibly be because it was a very popular pump with a lot of them having to pull fuel up from the cell.
Personally I have had good luck with the 8248 and having them gravity fed, close to the cell,pre-pump screen and post pump filter.

A friend recommended a e2000 pump for my lq4. Has anyone else used one?

e2000 is the old high pressure pump from 80s/90s Fords. Ford used a low pressure/high volume in-tank pump to feed it from the factory.

It will struggle to put out enough pressure and flow for a 6.0.

Lots of people used to run them. It used to be the "go to" inline EFI pump but it's marginal for new GM EFI.

And they are not really any cheaper than the pumps listed above.
