What makes a good trail?

So, what's the verdict?
Definitely the hardest trail I've been on. Hopefully these pictures do it some justice. The two of us made it around half way through before my trans let go (3000 stall, 1.96:1 NP205 and fiddies was a ticking time bomb). The other guy made it about 100 yards farther before his trans got hot and stinky, so he bailed hopefully before any damage occurred.

A couple of kids in high-end portal comp buggies with spotters finished the whole main trail the next day in 5 hours, 4,400' total. There are still several off-shoots on inclines to be conquered that no one has put tires on yet.

For sure this should be a bucket list trail for technical crawling guys with good parts. The list of rules makes total sense when you get there and walk a bit of it. I wasn't sure we were gonna get my tank of a rig out of there when I found all the neutrals. The guy that's been working on making it a reality for several years was an awesome dude, and wanted to make a trail for the hardcore guys only, keeping Jeeps on 35s and sxs guys off of it so the staff can go home when the park closes instead of waiting for under-prepared wheelers to make recoveries.

Good to know. I'm at about 3k stall too but 3.8 at the case and only 43's (though 4.10's at axles). Thinking I should upgrade my trans cooler setup beforehand, if/when I run that trail.

Looks like the YouTube channels of BleepinJeep and Flex Rocks Rollovers tried out the Mammoth Trail this weekend. Will try to post their videos over here once available unless someone else gets to it first.
