One owner is a dirt track racer and they are working on the track the other has family that are rock crawlers and they are working on the trails.
From what I've heard they want to have the trails opened up by late spring /early summer.

@xjcrawler because I mentioned Facebook? How am I supposed to become a hardline influencer if you wont like my posts?! #Hatersgonhate

No, just wondering if it's a good thing that they are racers and are they going to put more time and money into the race track or the offroad portion.

This is the answer I was hoping for, I will for sure enjoy some wheeling and a good Saturday night race.

Another way to look at it, some of the improvements to racing facilities (bathrooms, showers, RV hookups, camping areas, driveways/road improvements, lighting improvements, etc), can also beneficial to the offroaders.

I agree. If they keep/build the facilities up for the race crowds, surely some offroaders/clubs can do some work days to keep the trails cleared. It is a haul for my crew, but we'd be down for free entrance and camping for a long weekend of riding and cleaning/clearing trails.

I know our usual group would be up for helping clean trails as well.

I am glad to see the dirt track being opened back up. I want the park to be successful and profitable for the owners so it can stay open. With good promotion and management, I know it will be. I love that park.

I've highlighted something the park never really had before. They've had some decent managment over the years, but was never really allowed to promote it/have events.

Can't wait for this place to open back up.

I agree, keeping a dirt track operational is a serious weekly chore. So if they keep it going, the offroad portion should be a cakewalk. But from watching videos of the past racing, it looks like a fast track.

Went and picked up the first CNC bent and notched Partially Committed Racing 2 seat chassis for Joshua Thomerson. 2" DOM main structure . I'll be keeping yall posted as this build comes together. Josh sold his ol buggy a little while back and has always said he would build a new one if GMP opened back up. I guess it was meant to be.

On the way home we decided to stop by Golden Mountain Motor Park and the gates happened to be open and work was getting done. Got to talk with one of the new owners for a bit. Very nice folks. It is exciting to hear their plans and see the enthusiasm they have to get things done and the park open for everyone to enjoy. It looked like Jeff Lyons and his crew have been putting in work!

It also sounds like there will be a new entrance for the off-road side of the park. We went and scoped it out. This will make it much easier for large RV's, large trailers, campers, etc to access the top of the park with out having to use that crappy road up the hill. He said the plan is to make the pavilion area up at the top sort of the headquarters area for the off-road side of the park. They want to add more showers, camping, RV hook ups, a "general store", etc., all up top. To access the entrance you will go past the current entrance, up a small hill that is maintained 2 lane road, turn left on a road (can't remember the name) and then left into the park. This gets you to the back corner of the property and up on top of the mountain where the facilities are and more will be.

They are wanting to get the offroad part of the park going ASAP. It takes much less work for us to be able to get back on the trails. The facilities and circle track will come. They have equipment being purchased etc. to get it all done.

To finally have an owner that cares about this park will be exciting stuff! People have leased the park and put their time and money and heart into the park but the owner has never given a ****.
