I feel like all the off road parks are getting better but I got to spend 4 days straight at choc this week and let me tell you this park has gotten better the last couple years. The older trails have gotten harder but new trails are everywhere.
I heard people say everything from that park is "only for bouncers" to "I got lost for an hour on all the new trails" I don't know how many trails have been added I think some of the easier ones are just getting used more.
The park has "majestic" views from the top of the mountain and the owners are the absolute easiest people to work with. The owner is out at the park everyday maintaining the main road and checking on people. If someone says that this park isn't a good park for "whatever you drive" they just haven't explored it enough

Choccolocco and Harlan are my 2 favorite parks. I live 30 minutes from Windrock and would rather drive 3 hrs to go ride there. Definitely some good stuff at Choccolocco!!!
I hate I couldn't make it there for this past weekend.

I first went to chocco a year ago and had a blast in my turd muffin on 38's. Really loved backside and having so many options to pretty much climb where ever you could. Hoping to make it back out there early next year, only thing I hate is the 8+ hr tow and going through ATL.

As a bonus there were minimal side by side this week. There were some but they acted like normal people.
My biggest fear is I'm going to collect a rzr going around a turn with my rig driving the main road at Stony. I always slow way down on the blind turns, but the Rzr are usually rolling pretty fast in a heard of 4 or 27 on the main road.

Another thing to consider when deciding where to spend your money to ride is that this park is privately owned by a couple who own a small business in town. Give back to the people who help the sport.
also the RV spots with good electric and water is $20 a night. The view from the RV spots is spectacular. I'm thinking about doing a midweek camping trip with the rugrats.
Oh yeah they have an adult size playground with a 20 foot tall swing set and a 100ft zip line that held my fatass

100 ft zipline?? If anyone would know the safety of sketchy rides and attractions........ :rolf:

Only been to Choc once to ride passenger with @smbroady82 for the 2017 Hardline Ride.

What are the "Go To" trails/obstacles there? I know about Boat Ramp and the steep hillclimbs (Violator etc), but just curios what else is there.

I love Choccolocco but havent been since Memorial Day 18 (my build is taking longer than expected). What new trails are there? I am assuming they are not covered in John G's map?

There is a good route in this thread.

teepee has turned into a hell of a climb with 43s.

Yes, I use that map when I'm there. I haven't done the trails in the order of that post though.

Probably my favorite park. I can't do a lot of the crazy hill climbs, according to my wife we won't be doing Hells Revenge again any time soon at least not from the bottom up but she'll forget by the next time we're there. I don't know a lot of the trail names but Cherry Bomb and those around it are always fun for us cherocar folks. And like stated before the views are great and the owners are awesome.

Thanks for the link to JohnG's route.

Playground ain't no joke.
I got wedge up on the far left, then crawled all the way over to the far right to get out. It was a little sketchy. As my crawling skills leave a little to be desired.

Link to build thread?

It's most detailed on Jeep forum but it's also on Pirate as Plus Size YJ in Hardcore Jeep. The first half of the build are photosuckit so they might not show up.

I know what you mean exactly. Had to go way left of the tree back at the tree then up and out. Mike G was in front of me and I thought for sure he was going to roll down and land on top of my buggy. He hit the stump and shot him straight up and almost over. That rock is dug out and you cannot see it from below. Dem Ingram boys showed at on Pick your poison with only KennyWayne powering out the top.

It would be great to get the ice machine fixed before it gets much hotter out. Being able to get more ice at the park is nice.

When you decide the timeframe you might do this, lemme know and I'll motorhouse over too. During this work-from-home stuff I've thought a few times about heading over and staying at Chocco. I love the owners because they love us, so it's a give-give relationship.
And oh yeah, I'll push you on the swing if you want.
