CL of the day

Maybe I'm a little out of touch but doesn't this seem higher than giraffe *****? Used to be able to get a matched 60/14bolt for grand (I know, I know, those days are long gone). Am I missing something, are these big in the Jeep world or is this just the result of inflation? https://stlouis.craigslist.org/pts/d/dearing-jeep-gladiator-axles/7425678260.html
I think it's moreso that they are basically brand new. A collision repair shop could probably make money on those.

I also think it's kind of a "thing" to keep your built axles (like a $10k Dynatrac 44 crate axle) and swap stockers back in to trade in your Jeep every 2-3 years and get a new one.

Super duty Dana 60s are still only a few hundred and the pull a parts are full of rear axles

Is it a scam? You are on STL Craigslist but it says they are in Daphne, Al

The ad seems legit enough but very well could be a scam.

As someone who spends way too much time looking at Craigslist for things that I "totally need to buy," I've noticed the thing is to cross post an item to as many Craigslists as possible to get more visibility. So say the item is located in Ashville, NC, but cross posted on the Nashville, Knoxville, Tri-Cities, and Charlotte versions of Craigslist.

I know the 44 front out of jk seems to go pretty steep because theres so many ppl wheelin them other than that idk . I considered putting jk axles under my waggy just because aftermarket parts used are more plentiful. From that I've seen mild wheelin they hold up with 40s.

That's pretty impressive if they hold up to 40's, idk if I'd be able to get away with using them, I tend to drive like a pissed off teenager in the woods and end up driving by Braille

Yea I'd say it depends on driving style. There's gonna come time when anything will break . I try to use my winch more than I used too just for the fact I'd rather not make trail repairs anymore. Its a whole lot simpler in the garage lol.

Haha I get it, it's definitely the smarter move! I tend to get caught up in the moment

That is a good tow rig for the wheeler for sure. Tranny is problematic but could be rectified.
Thought it was neat too and almost immediately started looking to see if they listed anything about a transmission since those were so reliable in 2nd Gen Dodge trucks.

Definitely a cool rig but it's departure angle looks like it could be problematic. Looks like there's damn near 8' behind the rear tires.

Very true there. Seems most Class C's have similar rear overhang as well as most Class A's.
Class A pushers and big toterhomes I get, their wheelbases are stretched out already that any further they'd be a sonovabitch to maneuver. Class Cs I never understood why they'd design it with so much overhang. Only thing I can figure is that they spent all their money on the design of the camper portion of them and it's easier to just deal with a factory wheelbase to keep the price reasonable.

I've never understood it on most Class C's easier. Probably onto something about easier to use factory wheelbases.
