trailers

Yea!!!!! i get to pick up my new car trailer on friday morning!!!!!! now i have to decide if i want a dove tail or a strait back trailer??? any opinions...on which one?????:awesomework:

Picked mine up yesterday, very impressed, tows great. TNT builds their own to spec, I had some custom things w/my build. Pics en route.

I don't know of anyone personally who's built their own, but you'd have to get it inspected by the State Patrol and from what I've read, homebuilt trailers get highly scrutinized. Also, my guess would be the dealers get better prices than we (avg joe) could on steel/parts/etc buying in bulk?

sidenote: I drove mine home w/the license plate on it, not even a temp.

me too

i think this is the right place to put this. im going to be in the market for a trailer to haul the yota around soon so i figured id ask a few question from you veterans. what trailers are you guys running? where did you pick them up? what are you guys paying? anything you would have added after the purchase? after the purchase did you think it would have been cost effective to build one?

thanks for any info

Thanx for posting this I'm also in the same boat!:awesomework:

Trailer Town: 18', 10K, Drivers flip-out fender (I copied it on the passenger side,) tilt-deck with 6' drop tongue. Spare tire and mount, hitch lock, $3700 or so out the door. I haul cars too so the tilt was necessary for easy loading w/o scraping.

I will probably build my next one (18+4' tilt) for the price people are charging for custom or one-off trailers, it makes more sense to build your own if you can do it fairly quickly.

I picked up my c channel trailer last year from Trailers NW in Maple Valley
from Brandon.

as of 12:45pm on 5/3/07
16' 7,000# GVWR tandem Axle, C Channel, 4 wheel brakes, stake pockets, under framed, stored ramps, sale price $1999.00

yup last year I spend a few weeks calling around. I wound up buying the last one on the lot on a wednesday or thursday afternoon... (before memorial day weekend)... the guy started with three on the lot that morning, I was supposed to have my pick... had one left when Tom-Tom and I finally got down there!
