I been workin on a sami for a friend of mine Tyler. I have known his dad Jeff for years, he owns New Sound Muffler in south hill. I met him when I worked next to the mineke years ago. Worked for him along time ago too!

Anyways the rig was being driven around on 33bfgs when it came in. I didnt get any pics of it stock but it had a bootyfab three link rear and some whooped ass jeep leaves in the front on sami axles.:puke: It was a nice clean straigt bodied rig before the torch hit it.:cheer:

So the plan was to get some................
............. power steering box off IFS toyota with plated and sleved framerails
............. toyota axles 4.88 gears locked
............. extend the threelink and remove bootyfab in rear
............. shackle reverse the front
............. RUF toyota jeep hybrid front springs
............. exocage
............. tubed nose and stinger
............. tubed rear and long shocks
............. body shortened and plated with .25 plate for armor

It was a three link that I did on it 4 years ago before I really knew what i was doing. It seemed to have held up until one of th joints failed. I guess Jimmy redid part of the three link after the joint failed. Not sure how much he did to it after that.:awesomework:

Have you flexed it out in the rear? Those shocks look like they will hit the frame.

Make up your mind! The last rig you said the shocks were too close now you think there too far apart?:redneck::haha:

No realy, I have twisted it up and its fine. The shocks lower mount only moves about 1/2 inch to the side when twisted up.

Lookin good, tyler is so stoked to get this thing back! When is it going to be finished?

Heres a picture of tylers samurai before the build @ the 4 wheel parts RTI ramp contest. :looser:

1/4" body plate on a sammy for body armor?

You building a figure eight demo derby car for the fairgrounds?

What would you suggest? Some thick sheetmetal with some speed holes?

I didnt do it mainly for armor, its mostly to attach the cage to and be as strong as going to the frame if you could call it a frame.

I didnt exaclty care for the poisen spyder angle iron jeep cage supports. I figured if I was going to attach the cage to something other than frame it better be stronger than some wussy 1/8 pimple dimple hole plates that seem to be so popular.:masturbanana[1]:

Thanks. Its been a different experience. Im so used to just building the same toyotas over and over, I had to stop and rethink everthing. It was all different/new to me.

I like your little rig, the more I see it the more it grows on me. :awesomework: My ole lady has a 410zuk that dont run. I keep looking at your rig and thinkin of hers. I know better too.:haha: Maybe Ill surprise her one of these days.

Tylers a good guy and Im looking foward to wheelin with him!

Adding for structural support makes more sense than "body armor"...it's a wheeling rig, the body is expendable :redneck:
