Project samurai repair and replace

So I used to DD my sammi then I got a yota so I bashed it around and tried my best to kill it. Then I parked it in a barn for a while. Then this happened View attachment 57548

And I figured while I'm at replacing the clip It time to get her back on the road with some upgrades and fixes.

So last night I pulled off the rust hiders View attachment 57550

And cut out the cancer caused by bad batteries View attachment 57551

Also pulled out the random seats that where crap welded in there View attachment 57552

Busted up all the plastic crap so I can bed line the inside View attachment 57554

Got all the parts to do a Sas so ....this thing is getting yota axles just need those sandwich plates and some yj springs

Haha yeah I actually went back and found your thread you did for unclestripeys build so I may have some questions later on .... Might also steal the paint idea

I got some Toyota u bolt flip kits laying around I wonder if I could use those plates

If the plate material is a minimum of 1/4" thick, I'd say you could...might be a bit short for the bases though when you cut off the wings...recommend a min of 5" surface area for the spring to sit on. preferably 5.5", as this will reduce axle wrap...

What plates are you needing? The ones that move the spring bracket on the frame or the axle?

The sandwich plate on the top of the axle

Hey, since you got the body tore down that far, any rust you haven't cut out I'd cover with Corroseal. It stops rust, or at the very least slows it way down. It paints on milky white and turns black as it chemically bonds with the rust. It's not cheap but it's cool stuff.
One thing though, don't pour the excess you didn't use back into the jug. Use a cheap brush and plastic cup, and throw that **** away when you're done.

I'm sanding most of it down since I repainting and rhino lining the inside this thing we be rust free before it rolls out of here

Got all the plastic chipped up now to weld some holes **** and get the seats mocked up

If you want me to wander out to the shop and grab #'s let me know.....

That would be cool so I can get Dave to burn me some out
