So I used to DD my sammi then I got a yota so I bashed it around and tried my best to kill it. Then I parked it in a barn for a while. Then this happened View attachment 57548

So I got this from Gavin View attachment 57549

And I figured while I'm at replacing the clip It time to get her back on the road with some upgrades and fixes.

So last night I pulled off the rust hiders View attachment 57550

And cut out the cancer caused by bad batteries View attachment 57551

Also pulled out the random seats that where crap welded in there View attachment 57552

Here is what in going to replace them with bought these for a steal from mark m ages ago View attachment 57553

Busted up all the plastic crap so I can bed line the inside View attachment 57554

Got the front clip off View attachment 57555

Got all the parts to do a Sas so ....this thing is getting yota axles just need those sandwich plates and some yj springs

If the plate material is a minimum of 1/4" thick, I'd say you could...might be a bit short for the bases though when you cut off the wings...recommend a min of 5" surface area for the spring to sit on. preferably 5.5", as this will reduce axle wrap...
 
Hey, since you got the body tore down that far, any rust you haven't cut out I'd cover with Corroseal. It stops rust, or at the very least slows it way down. It paints on milky white and turns black as it chemically bonds with the rust. It's not cheap but it's cool stuff.
One thing though, don't pour the excess you didn't use back into the jug. Use a cheap brush and plastic cup, and throw that **** away when you're done.
 
I'm sanding most of it down since I repainting and rhino lining the inside this thing we be rust free before it rolls out of here
