Dual steering pumps

I have a 6.0 adn was thinking of keepign the stock pump to run a hydroboost system and put a second pump in the old a/c compressor location. Has anyone done this previously.

Pump high passenger runs the front steering, pump low driver runs hydro boost and rear steer.

Did you have difficulty with finding the right belt length to run that system? I did it on my last rig but was running seperate v-belts to both pumps. One of the reasons I was looking at using the lower passenger location for the second pump was that it has a stock location for a rib belt with a tensioner. I thought it would be difficult to find a belt long enough to run in the configuration you have.

I've got two pumps on my setup 302 with all serpentine pullys got the rear on a factory pump and got a krc pump on the front works perfect. The belt I finally got to fit was a Goodyear gator back at almost a hundred bucks.

Pic of your setup?

I'm putting a "P" pump in the stock location for rear steer, and a was planning on some other type of pump for the front,

thank u sir if would just give me a measurements from center of water pump out and are u running 5.5 pullys or something else

Sorry for the delay..those are 5.5 pullys, from the center of the water pump to the outer edge of the upper pump pulley it 13.5"

I've got JJs dual plate for two TC pump pumps. My frame comes up high along side the engine and the upper pump outlet is interference with it. I've notched the inside of the frame (2x3 rectangle) to allow room for the presure line out of that pump.

in this pic tbitoy the big goofy neck extension is for the factory pump on the bottom but I have got a remote psc remote can I'm going to put on instead mainly because when it gets rolled over all the fluid runs out the factory cap. The front has a remote can and has never leaked out when rolled over. The pics suck I know I got this new iPhone and can't seem to get the pics uploaded like I did on my droid x.

It doesn't have a belt on it yet but it's 8 rib and I believe Cummins engines use an 8 rib. I don't see it being a big problem because John Deere engines use an 8 rib also and they have numerous lengths. I guess we will find out soon

Did not know about John Deere, that is good information to have.

If ya'll dig deep enough on belt manufacturer's websites you can normally find a pdf or something listing belt lengths and dimensions with part numbers. From there its just a matter of finding a store with them in stock or waiting for them to arrive.

And if you look up belt pricing at rockauto.com you will kick yourself in the ass any time you ever need to buy at a parts store. Normally rockauto has them for 1/2 price or less, even compared to my commercial accounts at the stores.

NTIDWELL ,I rode with you at wheeling one time. I was riding at Oliver springs and ran into labrons new buggy. he had an electric rear steer that I really liked. Stand alone system costabout $600 bucks and is real fast. Has a spring loaded switch inside, when you switch left the motor turns one way for left , switch right and the motor turns the other way! I found one at grainger I really like also kriptonnite customs has one. He had it on Rockwells too
