SLORV - Hog Wild Shootout - February 22-24, 2013

We got a cottage at the KOA campground like 3 or 4 miles from the park. They may still have some let never know.

Weather heads up for the Michigan guys coming down.

I live in Southeast Missouri and we are under a Winter Weather Advisory for Thursday. Looking at snow, ice and freezing rain. I figured most will be coming down I-55 or I-57 and this will affect both.

I realize you are used to winter driving but the ice and freezing rain is what sucks around here. Really very little they can do with it. The road crews do pretty good and they are pre-treating roads today but just be aware there may be some problems from south of St Louis to north of Memphis.

Be careful coming down and looking forward to some action this weekend!!

WHERES THE BEST PLACE TO STAY AROUND THERE? (HOTEL.MOTEL) NOT TOO FAR FROM THE PARK. THANKS

Most of the motels that are close to the park are a little on the dumpy side. Knights Inn and Travelier are the only ones I've stayed in close by. There are a few others though. The hotels in the old Downtown area are not too far away either. Embassy Suites, The Arlington, etc.

We stay here: http://www.comfortsuites.com/hotel-hot_springs-arkansas-AR160 Its about a 20 minute trip from the park but its easy if you take the bypass around town. Plus, it's across the street from On the Border! Damn good brisket tacos!

KOA was booked up on cabins a few weeks ago. They might have a cancellation though.

Can I just pitch a tent on the ground like I do at all the other parks I go to? Never been to Hot Springs..

Normally, they have designated primitive camp sites sorta like at state parks. They're all full I'm sure but they may have designated some additional areas for this event. I would give them a call.

KOA is just up the road and they may have something.

cory left earlier today and still had 9 hours to go a couple hours ago.so the roads are not good.good luck tonight mike.ill call you guys at 5 am to see were you are at.i hope we have a clear and clean 14 hour drive south. cant wait! see ya al friday!

Just my luck. One of the only times I take off work to make an event and here comes the biggest snow storm we've had in two years. :flipgotcha: mother nature. Heading out from northern Missouri Friday, hope everyone has a safe trip. :woot:

Report on northwest Arkansas and just across the line in Missouri if that's the way anybody is coming we got some sleet overnight so the roads have some real slick spots good luck hope everybody gets down there ok I'm leaving out tomorrow morning should be ok by then at least that's what the forecast says

This may be a deal breaker for me. I have to camp out, and I don't know the area at all, so getting a campsite set up 1 day in advance is going to suck. Especially since I won't be there until midnight.

****!

do you have a trailer?? pitch your tent on it!! im sure you can get something figured out for a place to sleep.

I am gonna have to back out too, weather up here in northern Kansas really sucks right now. Roads are terrible. Was gonna race too! booyang
