Lawn Mower?

I have a Toro with 54" deck and love and had nothing but good luck with it! I mow 2 acres at my house with it and mow my Grandmas and dads grass which are bout probably a little over a acre a piece once a week!

Gravely is a nice one as well :dblthumb:

Re: Re: Lawn Mower?

I use a 50" Gravely for my mowing business. It has a 23 HP Kawasaki. It has never failed me. The hydraulic deck is the ****! Great mower!!

Ex mark/toro would be my second choice.

I have been looking at new mowers and I like the Husky. They gave the city of New York test mowers for a year, before they released they for sale. I have a GrassHopper 721 Diesel / 61 deck and it's a 1996 model and I still mower about 6 acres a week with it.

Kubota ZD326s 60" Commercial
Love it
That Diesel will last longer than I will
(I mow about 7acres)

My dad is a commercial cutter he ran 260Z diesel Gravelys for years with no problems actually still has one for backup he has four John Deere 997s diesels now and two grasshoppers for the bagging system he runs the diesels for the torque and in the long run they are cheaper than the gas burners they are like a pickup you pay for it up front it all depends on what you are cutting and how much whatever you decide on get the biggest motor they offer nothing sucks more than a 60 or 70 inch deck with a 25hp motor in other words it just wont cut

Exmark....hands down...strongest deck. I cannt tell you the **** ive hit in mine:

sledge hammer, fence post, horse shoes, bricks...it doesnt matter...it will bounce...the decks on these are what you are paying for.
cuts grass taller than me riding in it
60" cut or 50" is plenty 72" seems to dig in alot
stumps..again...it takes a beating
very comfortable
all the pros use them for rough cuts (walkers for pickup)
dont be afraid of alot of hours...they last and parts are available
ive had good luck with the motors...some some the Kawasaki motors are better than the Kohler's

Really all depends on what u want to do

Commercially u can't go wrong with kubota, exmark, bobcat, scag, gravely,Deere, toro, hustler, walker personally I would check like an earlier post stated see what all brands are in your area so when it goes down ur close also for parts u might be back going in a few hours instead of a few days

I just got rid of a bobcat 10 years old 1500 hours and had the hell run out of it and still going strong

I've went to a kubota zd326 diesel 60" and it is a awesome mower if ur looking at a mower to cut turf walker is very hard to beat I have 1000 hrs and still running strong just my 2cents

Probably ur best all around mower as far as gas powered exmark lazer z. Well built, cuts and leaves a good stripe, parts are pretty reasonable very well built and durable

Hope this helps

if you like a perfect looking yard cant do better than walker its what we use on the big money homes like greystone for those who know the area if you just wanna mow it and fast exmart is the way if you want something cheap get the Husqvarna at lowes if you have ALOT of land like fields then go grasshopper

After looking at prices I think this is what I will be buying

I caught a cub cadet a few years back with 500 cash back and 0 percent for a year. They were the cheapest that was big boy friendly and name brand. 52 in deck and 24 horse kawasaki motor. I got an acre and can knock it out in 20 minutes. I LOVE that mother. :woot:

Dixie choppers are overrated. I've had great dane. It was ok mower. Local dealer so parts were decently available. Then I got an exmark. Great mower hands down. Lots of parts in kc metro area. I now have a gravely 260z with the 27hp diahatsu diesel. Will run the wheels off it before I buy another one. I don't have a lot of trees but I mower 5 acres in an hour and 15 minutes while laying the stripes

My old 1985 Cub Cadet 982 is getting long in the tooth with 1700 hours. After checking prices, I would be better off paying someone else to now my yard. You can pay for a bunch of yard mowing for $12000. Then with all that extra time my wife would have, I could find her a 3rd job. ;D
