Ls motors

I would definitely look at different t-case bc even with a 6.0, ls motors don't make good low end torque they really like the high rev's. Swap to a 3.8 for a 6.0 or a 4.3 for your 4.8 and it will be good mix of low end and wheel speed with the high rpm's of the ls
Since ls engines are push rod i thought they were better for low end tq vs a Ford overhead cam is better from mid range and on?

That is ALL in the tuning & torque management. A dyno tune on a stock engine will pick up 35 ft lbs at 3000 rpm or 50+ at 3500 on a hot engine combo TO THE TIRES

What's a good price to pay for Dyno tuning?? I called a shop today an they said 650.00 for the dyno time an another almost 200 for a pre inspection. Said they check the driveshafts/drivetrain over an put a wideband O2 in. And I would have to leave my junk with them for a week does all that sound right too yall?

Oh an where the heck can a man buy a set of 243 or 799 heads that's are CNC ported an ready to go? I've called about 10 different places an the closest I can can get are from Texas speed an they are 2 to 4 weeks out.

Buy a set of 799 heads off eBay and have them done. Contact custompwr on here about a price. He owns custom race engines in Knoxville tn. Or PM me and I'll give u his cell number.

What's the triple R stand for? Thanks I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It just took me longer than expected to finish it.

I may have to do that but I was hoping to just buy a set RTR to save a little time an I wanted to stick with a head I could swap over to a 6.0.

He has a head porter at his shop with all the equipment to do a proper head port job. It will probably be cheaper than buying a set of heads new.

Here is what I'm working with its a randys rock rods chassis that I picked up an finished out.

I found a set of heads on there tonight I'm gonna text the guy back about them in the morning!! But they are just stock reworked heads. I'd like to find a cnc'd set ready to go

I know guys this has been talked about alot here lately but I just finished up my bouncer build an I need more motor. That said how hard is it to get a solid 500 horse out of a 5.3? What all will I need to change? I was thinking grab a set of trick flow heads an get a cam kit from comp. An idk what else after that. Who would be a good person to contact about this an steer me in the right direction?

I also have a 5.3 in my buggy. I was considering nitrous as a cheap solution to improve power. What are the pros and cons of using nitrous in a trail rig application?

Pretty damn good. Ls motors like spray or turbos. But for on a trail rig ask bug-e j. Works damn good in my opinion took me 3 showers to get the wheat grass seeds outta my body :****:

Thanks for all the help im gonna go ahead an buy a good set of heads that can be swapped over to a 6.0 later an throw a cam in this little 4.8 for now an get my transfer case gear ratio right. Then over the winter build/buy a good motor.
