The weekend of August 22 N. Florida is hosting/ challenging S. Florida to a friendly bounty hill competition and trail ride at Boggs And Boulders off road park in Andalusia AL. The comp will pay $700, and growing. Everyone is welcome, you do not have to be from FL however if you participate in the comp you must represent either the north or the south. $150 will be paid to the fastest up the hill from the north and $150 to the fastest from the south. The top two will run for ever how much money the purse grows to. As of right now it is $700 and a case of beer, no entry fee thanks to business donations posted below. Also a couple of jars of clear has been offered, not sure if part of the bounty or for everyone to enjoy, good beverage to enjoy around the cool pool. Anyone else wanting to add anything post it in this thread but I will keep an eye on the Hardrock thread over in general discussion.

Central FL in! We got at least 3 or 4 coming.

Re: North VS South Bounty Hill and Trail Ride

Boggs isn't going to know what hit them. Do you think we should give them some notice?

Bounty Hill you say? Hmmmm, sounds interesting. thumb.gif

Someone post some pictures of said hill.

Haha, I'm still unclear as to what hill it is. If its the one to the left of the first entrance to what I call the moon rocks hill (which are pretty much the only rocks out there) I'm not sure its possible. Its not very long but the top transitions to like a 10' straight up face. Last time we were there he was telling me that he played around on it a little bit but got denied. I was like, "Uh, yeah, you think?" I hadn't even considered it as an obstacle before. If Shawn tells me more specifically what hill he's talking about I'm going by there on Fri. and can swing by and get some current pics.

Re: North VS South Bounty Hill and Trail Ride

JJ, you are in the right area but not the right hill. Facing the one you are talking about look to the left about 30 yards. It has not been climbed but Ray and I think it is very doable for the comp. I would love to see someone climb the one you are talking about. If my wife is riding with me she will usually just get out and say have at it. The day I tried the face you are talking about she ran over and told me to get down and she wasn't talking about getting down on the skinny pedal either. Joel is missing an opportunity to host a comp on that little face but his bread and butter is in the mud. RTR

I'll go by there Fri. and take some pics. If you don't mind letting Joel know I am coming I would appreciate it. I just want to go in, take pics, and leave using my 2wd Ram 1500 on my way through.

Re: North VS South Bounty Hill and Trail Ride

Just spoke to Jill at Boggs. Everything is a go, they are going to list our ride on their site and hopefully post a link to Hardline for the info. She said they pay the same insurance for the Jeep Jamboree as any other weekend so we are good to go for the comp.
JJ, you are good to go. Jill said to stop at the office let them know and remind them what you are there to do. Joel was not there but Jill has my phone number. This is getting real and I know there are some lurkers let us know you are coming.

Re: North VS South Bounty Hill and Trail Ride

I will be seeking input for that closer to the date. Beings it is one hill I am thinking ride then comp over in the evening. I likely will be there on Friday if anyone wants to ride. Boggs has several options for staying at the park, check their page for details.

They do have a big field of mud holes but they also have tons of trails you can just ride that are relaxing. They have one main section full of sharp coral stone that has some challenging rocky hills / obstacles on it. They also have a sand pit with huge, steep mountains of sand to play on. Caves for the kids, a swimming hole, restaurant on site, parts store on site, the nicest facilities of any of the parks I have been to, tons of cabins and mobile homes to stay in, a stage for bands, more that I'm not recalling at the moment. It is a great family fun place. But in terms of bouncing its not worth more than an hour or two drive IMO. Its 1.5 hours from my shop so I go fairly regularly. They have a frequent visitor card, every 5th visit is free. I'm about to get my second free ride. :)

Few random pics from boggs. I don't have any of the hills shawn is talking about for a bounty. I know they are much more vertical.

As much as I like my local park, I would have to advise against a 5.5 hour drive to get here.
