HAR - King of the Hill Competition - August 29, 2015

Jamie Whitaker, Randal Key, Tim Bacon with a couple others in his groupI can't remember the other names - the list is with the racing promoter guy - about 11 bouncers so far. A bunch more are interested, but most are waiting to see the hill etc.

This is part of the spectators area, there will be a lot of spectators on the hill side and roads near to the climb (of course at a safe distance) but across from the hill we have several terraced levels as well as the top to hold hundreds upon hundreds of people...

There is limited parking for machines (jeeps/atvs etc) at the spectator area - but we have over 12 acres of parking at the bottom (a tad less than a half mile from the spectator area) and we have 2 vans that will be shuttling spectators up.

I don't have exact specifics as I had to run the office all day... :(

But...I believe we had about 10 Bouncers, 3 Rails, and 1 SXS to compete. Sadly we had probably around 100 (of each) Sxs's and Rail buggies here in the campground. I also seen 4-5 Rock Bouncers that came and watched but did not compete.

We did make a good 2-3 hour event by having 3 rounds...and we had probably about 500+ people here at the campground (400 or so spectated) and about 100 rode the off-road park instead of watching the event.

Now here is the CRAZY thing - WE MADE A HILL THAT ALL 3 MACHINES COULD MAKE IT UP AND IT WAS CLOSE! *Gasp!*

The top 3 class winners all had 21 second runs and were only separated by 10th's of a second.

I've not officially met with Ross Racing to confirm all specifics (as I'm still running the office)

But in 1st place was Mark Settles with his Subaru Bouncer
Followed by Darrel Jones in his Red/White/Blue Rail buggy
and 3rd was Gilbert Hollingsworth in his custom UTV

Big learning experience for sure and we know how to do things to make the event better.

Basically due to the length of the hill and having few 'catch trees' we had about 25 competitors to back out once they seen the hill. But we have plenty of room for many more hills.

Randall you had a helluva save on your first pass!! :driving: thumb.gif

X100 I was about 20 feet away, one of the best saves I've ever seen if not the best!

From my POV it looked liked it was way over center when the throttle was mashed in reverse, it was for sure awesome

Randal is a driving sob! I was on the hill next to the ledge he stood it up on, Randle let's go of the steering wheel reaches over with his left hand shifts it to reverse then throttles with his right hand to sit it back down! The hill climb was good very competive on times, and I had a blast watching!
