You think the SX is just a better tire, or is it the size that makes it better?

Combination of several factors I think. The Krawler may win out in overall sticky traction in a controlled environment but when you factor in sidewall strength, aggressive tread, overall height, and the ability to drive like an idiot, the SX comes out ahead.

Oh God! Your gonna piss off the red fans.

I run reds, but, the facts are the facts. The SX may not be as good on rock but holds its own, can the same be said about the reds in mud & rock? I don't think so anyhow.

What is the reasoning behind ditching the hydroboost? jw

Hot fluid, cavitation, overcomplicates the steering/hydro system. She's been through 3 pumps. I started a thread on the issues here awhile back. I've talked to all the experts and tried every mod I know to solve the problems. I've got it to the point now of being somewhat acceptable and she's not blowing pumps anymore but it will still get hot and her steering will fade when working an obstacle for an extended period of time. Yea the brakes are amazing but the tradeoff isn't worth it. My manual brakes are fine, my fluid never gets hot, and I've been on the same pump for 5 years now.

I need to get with you guys again !

My schedule is weird to say the least but I'm sure we'll figure something out one day.

How about an update. Turns out SXs break a lot of ****. So we set out to build the baddest rear 14 bolt around. There may be one out there that is more bad ass but if there is, I'm not aware of it. After bending the **** out of a 1st gen 14 bolt housing (spindle and tube) we decided to start from scratch. It all started with a call to East Coast Gear Supply. Shout out to ECGS btw, they crushed it. I knew we needed something that Jessica couldn't break so we went with their new, USA made 4" 14 bolt casting with full shave and 4", 3/8" wall DOM tubes. Let me tell you this thing makes a stock 14 bolt look like a D44. ECGS loaded it with 4.56 gears, a Mark Williams chromoly 40 spline spool, and MW 1410 chromoly yoke with chromoly caps. Shout out Wizzo and Diddy's Big Block Race Shop for all the MW parts and for handling the install. He did a great job.

I am over that spindle life so from there we went with MW 4" weld cups with built in axle seals, Ford 05+ unit bearings redrilled by MW and capped with their ABS blockoff plate, loaded with their 40 spline drive flange and capped out with the pretty blue anodized caps. To wrap it all up we decided the ole Chevy single piston brakes were no longer going to cut it and to save some weight we opted for the full MW brake kit treatment. Only thing left is to install the MW 300m 40 spline shafts. They will be here tomorrow. I'll get some pics of those beasts as soon as they hit the door.

Oh, during the swap I also had Wizzo (East Coast Shock Jesus) install the Radflo hot tune in Jessica's coilovers and convert them to external reservoirs. She will be riding on clouds now! Enjoy the pics.
