Super Duty 60 knuckles

I had mine machined by four wheel supply

I used artec. Not ran it yet. It needed some grinding to get a good fitup. Then heat and weld.
If you have a decent machine shop close id probably machine them if i do it again

Assist or full hydro?
Machined if assist /on road.
Weld on if hiems, full hydro, trail rig.

It will be 90-95% trail rig like it is right now. I'd still like to drive it on the road occasionally though. Is the weld on stronger? Obviously it depends on how it is welded though.

Both are plenty strong enough if done correctly. My statement above is based on the fact that most street rigs perfer tie rod ends. Hiems are the go to for trail rigs. I've not seen a weld on kit that allows the use of tie rod ends.

If your looking for max steering angle stay away from artecs. For a weld on kit I'd do the Jesse Haines kit or one of the guys that copied his design.

Do you have any pictures of those with dowels, etc?

I went with Weaver Fabrication too. The picture below shows the arms mounted to the knuckles. I don't have any good pictures of the machined knuckle surfaces. For each of the five drilled and tapped holes in the top of each knuckle, counterbores were added to accept sleeve dowels. Of course, those same counterbores were added to the bottom of each high steer arm, so the dowels have engagement with both components. They're a tight fit, so I won't insert the dowels until I'm ready to go together for the final time.

Mine are welded. They work great. But if I did it again I'd have them machined. Just to get the ram mounted a bit higher.

What JDuck said. We did Artecs on my SD knuckles and even with a 10" ram you don't hit the stops on the knuckles. It's enough and probably ideal for where my links are but you could get more out of it. Get the Jesse Haines Arms.
