[Flame suit on] (can never be too careful right?:fawkdancesmiley: )

Anyway..I was taking some pics of 4sale stuff down in the shop and i sat and looked at my front bumper for a minute and I realized that it's not really any better than stock so yeah...i've decided to either re-build it or build a new one, not sure which yet. Anyways, I thought that's I'd post up a picture and see what you guys think i should do and how i should do it.

And this is what i've got as the main start piece for my rear bumper. I've already got the placement of the center and the position of the frame rails marked but i'm stumped as what to do with it to tell ya the truth. Another go on the ideas/advice/flaming eh?

The front cut off the push bars and put a small stinger

The rear take some tube put a 90deg bend at both ends and make it about 4" shorter than the bumper and have it stick out from the bumper about 3" and you can run it flat or tilt it up

Bumper are overrated

you've never hit a deer at 35 have you? if you had you'd want a bumper :redneck:

ummm what?

shane...i got that....i just didn't get what the hell he was actually picturing lol....since this was SUPPOSED to be a tech thread from the beginning lol. I should know better by now on this site eh? And I totally agree with the tag thing...just sometimes it's hard to miss when they jump right in front of you on the single lane stuff ya know?

Since you need a pic this is like what I was saying but for your rear bumper

Make since now :D

.

Gotcha...like that cept across the back....I kinda like that. it'd definitely be different. i'll have to see about drawing it out. I think it'd be sweet to kinda make one of those pre-runner looking rear bumpers but the channel as the bas intstead of a tube frame for the bumper.....

So yeah...what would be the easiest way to build a stinger or pre runner style bar for my front bumper? my buddy had a bend but it's not located in the best spot so the bends he can make with it aren't always the tightest :(

You can get some ABS or PVC pipe and heat it up and but a bend in it and play with the angle and how tall you want it then when you find how you like it measure how tall it is from the mounting point to the top and then measure how wide it is at the mounting point, Then you buy the tube and post up and ask one of the guys here to bend it for you and give them some beer and you should be good to go.

Oh yeah where do you live ??

Well it depends, exactluy what do you want your bumper to do?

Is it a place to install a winch, is it meant as a place to protect the sheetmetal of your vehicle. Or is it being used as afeeler guage on narrow and tight trails.

Tells us waht you want, and we'll give you ideas on what you need.

LilBKO- That sounds like the best idea I've heard for a while....but yeah im about an hour and a bit north of you...Kelso, WA...Exit 36 off the I-5

Long&Low-mostly wanna push stuff down under the front end, you know, brush, animals, ledges whatever. That and i'd like a place to install some lights and eventually a winch...on BOTH ends!
