Trying to get it mostly right the first time: A 5.9 Magnum and 46RE swapped, Tummy Tucked Daily Driven Jeep TJ

I might have missed it but you have to do anything creative to get the factory gauge to talk to the 5.9 sending unit? And good call on the mechanical gauge. I'd definitely want to know what's up. Fwiw, my 6.0 had decently high miles but I've just run 20w50 in it and it's been good so far.

Trying to get it mostly right the first time: A 5.9 Magnum and 46RE swapped, Tummy Tucked Daily Driven Jeep TJ

I don't know much about the 5.9's, is that considered normal oil pressure at 2k?

    Orbital quality differences

When I was chasing steering issues on my wife's jeep, I pulled her brand new psc orbital and swapped it with a $125 unit off ebay. Aside from simultaneously fixing the steering issue at the same time as the replacement, they both seem to act identical. So I've just got the psc unit sitting on...

Throwing in the towel - my MarsFab buggy build

Whole buggy turned out great but that dash/console is killer. Really like that you wrapped behind the gauges too.

    BeerJ's BuzzBuggy Build-o-rama!

Yeah, didn't get cheaper at all, but I did. Never did anything with the bolt heads and they're more or less fine after 5ish years

    BeerJ's BuzzBuggy Build-o-rama!

Speaking of which, it developed a transmission fluid leak last time it was out. Could either be the trans or tcase. Hopefully it's just a seal and not something like a cracked case. I'll tear into that next.

    BeerJ's BuzzBuggy Build-o-rama!

Yeah, you're absolutely right and I was going to do that until I remembered that I'm 1410 at the tcase, and 1350 at the axles. This would've been the time to upgrade but that's just more money and the 1350's have survived just fine, at least until I typed that. I probably just lit the fuse by...

    BeerJ's BuzzBuggy Build-o-rama!

Small, lame update but I finally decided to address my driveshafts. Not long after I put it together, the blue plastic stuff on the splined end of the slip started puking itself out on the front driveshaft. I let it go but the last time I was out, I noticed the rear was doing the same. Both of...

    French Tickler buggy

Instead of using the tie-in between the arm and factory location for the steering heim to connect, he would use the red spot I made. Better Ackerman than the stock location. And I might be wrong but I think if you want to run a tie rod with full hydro, they need to mount at the same locations...

    French Tickler buggy

I guess double shear wasn't what I meant. More just tying it into the stock steering location. Can still have your tre at the same spot. But beefing up the arms like you have should definitely help, and not playing george of the jungle

Looks like you've got room to double shear the steering but I'm guessing you've got a reason for not.

    Re-venge YJ Tons Swap

You're absolutely right. Now I just need to make the throttle less touchy or else she'll be hotdogging all over the place

    Re-venge YJ Tons Swap

Nothing too exciting. Finally got the bugs completely resolved in her steering. But leading up to it, I swapped the orbital, swapped mine and her rams, bypassed the cooler and disassembled the flow control valve. None of which helped. But things got better when I loosened the mounting bolts for...
