She's not pretty, but she has good bones. I bought this almost a year ago with intentions to build a rat rod project, but I just can't bring myself to cut it up. There are some small rust spots, but overall the body and frame are solid compared to most Samurai's I've dealt with over the years. It was originally blue and had the hood, doors, and fender flares swapped from a red donor then at some point it was painted black.
When I got it, it already had a Low Range Off Road 1.6 8v swap but the motor was bad, so I swapped in another 1.6 8v from a 1991 Geo Tracker ($500). It has a new Weber carburetor ($280), new radiator ($100), new battery ($100), new throttle cable ($20), and a few other misc. parts (spark plugs, plug wires, dist. cap, dist. rotor, pcv valve). The fuel tank was also dropped and cleaned with new fuel filter and an inline electric fuel pump installed ($45).
NEW EXHAUST as of January 8, 2020.
