2014 Silverado 5.3L AC Compressor........why do they SUCK?

So, I don't have time to search.

The AC compressor in my 2014 Silverado with 5.3L seized today. 51k miles, out of warranty. Yes, I drive a lot. Is there more than just simply bolting in a new one, plumbing tye AC lines, charging it and putting on a new belt? Or, is there some other stuff that has to be done also? Thanks.

Did they change from the earlier years?

Gonna go ahead and jinx mine I guess......08 5.3 110K miles. Slowly becoming the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned(previous was 97 GMC 2500)

From what I've read, the AC compressor on the 2014s are an issue. Of course, GM won't recall them.
